Fiber is a necessity for your body. Not only does it keep you regular and help get rid of toxins, but getting enough can also help lower your cholesterol and prevent heart disease and certain cancers. Women are encouraged to consume between 25 and 30 grams a day. If you're having a hard time eating enough, grab one of these snacks that contain at least five grams of fiber:
- Munch on cereal: Enjoy one cup of Barbara's Puffins, Kashi Go Lean, or Kashi Sunshine.
- One Larabar: Enjoy Banana Cookie, Ginger Snap, Chocolate Coconut, Chocolate Cherry, or Coconut Cream Pie.
- Trail Mix: 1/4 cup almonds and 1/4 cup Craisins
- Apple or pear with the skin.
- Half an avocado.

I recently bought Silk Soymilk Plus Fiber (5 grams/8 oz serving) to increase my family's fiber intake. It tastes good.
1these are really good and easy ways to add fiber into your diet. i know that for myself i don't like to have to jump through hoops to get nutrients, and these are easy. i always recommend that people carry and apple with them, and this is just another example on why it's a good idea.
2I've really increased my fiber intake, and I am so proud of myself!
I think the choice of stock photo is kinda funny - I think this particular photo is supposed to be an illustration of Eve offering the fruit of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad to Adam (because her bare shoulders make her look naked). But apples have fiber, so it does fit!
3Fiber is key!
4Haha, the apple and pear suggestion is funny. My friend always brings pears and I always bring apples.
5I add flaxseed to my morning smoothie.
6I've found that meeting my fiber needs via fruit, veggies, nuts and flax seed really help keep me full throughout the day. My stomach no longer growls and bugs me between meals/snacks and my blood sugar levels don't spike anymore either!

10half a cup of FiberOne has 14 grams of fiber and with half a cup of milk it's only a total of 100 calories. I've switched from my high fiber oatmeal to this. I have to maintain a high-fiber diet, but a plus side is for every 1 gram of fiber you take in, it's 7 calories you don't. Hooray!
