The year is almost over, which means not only are we going through all the best things of 2008, but it's also time to start thinking about those New Year's resolutions.

You know I am curious if you guys have any healthy resolutions for 2008, so speak up and share them in the comments section below. No resolution is too big or too small to share. I want to hear them all.

My resolution for the new year is to just work out 4 days every week. It's something I know I can achieve. My previous resolutions have been to lose a certain amount of weight, and that just never works. A resolution like that just makes me feel discouraged.
1My 2008 goal was to run 1,000 miles in 2008. Unfortunately, I got injured and it looks like I'm only going to hit 950 miles, so I'm aiming for 1,000 in 2009.
2I want to get to my goal weight of 125! Just 5 more pounds!
3mine is to make time EVERY MORNING and workout-esp do yoga at least 3 times a week. I do want to lose weight but am not focusing on how much I want to lose or obsess over it. Just do some sort of physical activity daily, be healthier.
4Mine's kind of just a general "be healthier". Go to the gym as much as I can, eat better, etc. I feel like 2009 is going to be a pretty good year overall - at least I hope so.
5Stop eating Quaker rice snacks, remembering my calcium pill every SINGLE day, and cutting down on Diet Coke.
6I haven't really thought about it till now, but I want to start eating healthy and stop worrying about anything bad happening to me.
7I have a couple resolutions:
81) Lose the weight i have gained since i started my job
2) GET OUT OF DEBT! Also, no more credit cards ever!!
3) Get through the year without impulsively making a terrible hair cut/dye decision
I don't really bother with them because of the fact that it's well known that people make resolutions and a lot don't really stick to them, but since before now it's been my goal to try to lose some more of the extra weight that has stuck around to long even if it's very stubborn and won't go away.
9Train for and run a marathon.
10stop being a lazy ass and live like a person, not a vegetable
11Get back into training now that my injury is healed. I can't wait to run a road race again and it's KILLING me to take things slowly. Also, I'm going to have to agree with juey. My official new years resolution is to not cut my hair.
12I want to eat better, start running again, save enough money to start going to Capoeira classes, cut back on credit card spending, and read more books.
13My new years resolutions are just continuing on from goals I have already set.
1) Lose weight. I have quite a bit to lose, but no pressure for a time frame.
142) Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. (I may not even have one glass in a day, usually)
3) Stick to a better budget, since with extra money to spare, it's been tough.
4) Do something new...like go skydiving, or travel to a new state or country.
i agree with monday & juey- 1. no more impulsive hair cuts (12 inches??? what was i thinking!)
152. eat healthier, especially when it comes to my dorm food
3. keep working out & start trying new classes offered at the gym
though i am aiming to lose some more weight, i agree with many people here that i'm not going to "jinx" myself, yet instead just work towards it cause it's something i know i need to do
1. lose 15 more pounds to get to my goal weight
162. enjoy life
3. get good grades in school
4. watch spending
5. get back into dancing
6. overall, be healthier
I quit making New Years Resolutions a long time ago. For me, I tend to start self-sabotaging myself as soon as I make them! Now, I just set goals for myself throughout the year.
17I've got a couple: Lose the excess weight and be done with it once and for all!!! Participate in a military mud run in October! Be more patient with my children, they're only young once. And have more sex, with two kids and my husband's wonky work schedule, we've put each other on the back burner, it's time to turn up the heat! giggle giggle
18My new years resolution for 2008 was to floss every single night. So far, I have accomplished this goal. No goal for 2009 yet. I don't expect it will be one major thing, but rather smaller, like work out a minimum times per week, get my full serving of fruits/veggies a day, and work in critical care (I'm an RN).
19I'm 16 years old and every year I have the same resolution "lose weight", my parents pay for the gym but I never go, so I never achieve it. But this year I've decided that I want to go 5 or 6 days a week to the gym, the minimum will be an hour. For once in my life I really want this, I'm tired of people making fun of me, and even my parents making some comments that are not really funny about my weight. So that is my new year resolution, and I promise, here, on fitsugar to keep it.
Also I find a lot of inspiration here to get out of bed and get to the gym, so thank you!
20After reading my comment I said to myself "everything is about what people say to you" and I never once did I mention "getting healthier". I also have back pain that has been killing me for some years now, so I want to exercise to try to feel better, to be able to go for a walk without loosing my breathe.
21Another resolution would be get better grades, and stop watching so much tv, and get out of the computer. Because I live in Uruguay, and I have to wait a lot for new season of grey's anatomy o desperate housewives or gossip girl to arive. So I watch them on the internet, and I spend a lot of hours just watching them.
Also this also conects with me losing wieght because I love clothes and make up but when I try them on me, I hate what I see, to it all conects, and when I achieve my resolutions I will be able to conect what I love with what I need to be healthier.
Woow I wrote a lot.

I post it again because it had some mistakes
221. try something new
232. pay off debts
3. lose weight & get healthy
4. Get a makeover [LOL!]
5. Spend more time with friends
6. Quit smoking
1. Eat healther by eating more fruits and vegtables daily.
242. Go to bed earlier at night.
3. Get on a better budget and start saving more money.
4. Try to exercise a little bit more.
To join a gym. I am not setting myself up any more than that. The one thing I have resisted is joining a gym and that is to my detriment. If I join, I will work out. I'm too poor to waste money.
25I have other resolutions, but I'll just post my fitness/health ones here:
1. Exercise daily, as much as possible. If not, then 5-6 days per week minimum, even on vacation.
2. Attain goal weight, then maintain it.
3. Drink 3-4 (24oz) bottles of water per day
4. Take multivitamin and supplements daily
5. Eat more fruits and vegetables than anything else, and no processed food
6. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep, and keep a regular sleep schedule (it gets off track a lot).
7. No soda and limit caffeine and alcohol.
I pretty much follow all of these anyway, except for needing to still get to my goal weight(s) which won't be for a few months or so anyway, and getting enough sleep. So they aren't unrealistic really, I just have to keep up the good habits I've established.
26I have many, but my main one is to get my butt off the couch and lose the 40 pounds I've gained over the past few years
271. Find a new job (where I'm working now cause me too much stress)
282. Eat healthier
3. Get out more.
pray often and recognize things to be grateful for instead of negative about
29Clean and conquer clutter
Work out 5 days a week
restrict portion sizes
eat fruits instead of sweets
After countless diets and TV-purchased exercise equipment, my bf and I have decided we need a life-overhaul, not a diet-overhaul. So we're eating healthier, getting out more, and going to head to the snow a few times to snowboard and get away. Weight loss isn't the goal, but we're hoping it will be a happy side-effect!
30I have decided that I want to be healthier this year..I'm not going to be unrealistic with myself and say I will cut out everything but a lot of things will be gone or at least limited. I want to get back to drinking more water. And I want to get back into doing Yoga at least 5 times a week. I just ordered 2 DVD's from Ebay and can't wait to start doing them.
31To continue my healthy eating and fitness routine and lose the holiday weight plus another 2 kgs (about 4 pounds??) and run at least twice a week.
321. Workout steadily throughout the whole year. 4-5 days a week. 2. Eat right. More fruits and veggies. 3. I want to spend the year making my body as perfect as possible. I know, how vain. 4. Save money! 5. Break up with boyfriend. Its just not working out.
331. Eat an drink right every day
342. Exercise every day
3. Sleep more and more regularly
4. Follow a class (cooking, a new language, spinning,...)
5. Quit my job if it doesn't get better
1. Increase my running from 5K to a 10K even if it's not a race
352. More yoga and add kickboxing again
3. Quit smoking sometime this year
4. Finish school with good grades and all
5. Sleep more
1. Run 1,000 miles in 2009
2. Workout at least 6 days a week
3. Limit sweets to 2 days a week
4. Do something exciting... like skydiving
5. Be nice to my boyfriend
6. Make straight A's for both semesters
7. Hang out with all my friends more
...I know I can accomplish all of these, especially since I am posting them on a fitness website for all to see... it makes it seem more permanent!
36also, to complete in and finish in one hour, a half triathlon!! To post best times in all my races this year as well completing in all possible races that are offered around town!!
371. Exercise at least 3x a week;
2. Drink at least 1,5L of water everyday;
3. Work on my posture;
4. Be more organized;
5. Make a study schedule and stick to it;
6. Become more informed: spend more time watching/reading the news;
7. Read more books;
8. Get closer to my parents;
9. Be more positive and focus on the good stuff : )
I'm saving this page on my desktop, so I'm reminded of these everyday! Ha, this year I'm sticking to the resolutions!
381. Join a running club and train to run in actual races
2. Commit to strength training and focus on my core
3. Try not to get in food ruts (even healthy ones) and give new recipes a try
Also bosworthfan I love the "try something exciting" resolution!! I think I am going to have to do that as well.
39Continue "not dieting" because in my experience it seems to create low self-esteem and bingeing. I'm at a weight I like so I guess maintain that. One non-fitness-related is to be on time for church each week. We're usually late and it's usually my fault! :0)
40I am going to start doing yoga!! I'm also going to stop eating at night.
41BECOME AN IRONMAN!! (already registered and SO pumped for IM Cozumel - Nov 09)
42My resolution is to continue this new life I began for myself 16 months ago. I workout 5-6 days a week, and luckily have not had any injuries or illnesses in all that time to keep me from working out. (well, I did have to take 4 days off at Thanksgiving because of a bad cold, but other than that it's been 16 mos. solid!) Continue eating a healthy and balanced diet. I allow for cheats with no guilt! I would like to increase cardio. I'm planning on adding cardio to the days I do yoga or pilates (usually twice a week). Usually I just do yoga or pilates and no cardio, but I have like 12 pounds more to lose and they just don't want to come off, so I was thinking the extra cardio sessions might help.
43Also, continue to motivate my kids to stay healthy and exercise all they can. Also, master the jumprope! Now, that's an awesome workout.
441. Still be with my current boyfriend by next year because I love him.
452. Lose 10 lbs (the 5 I gained over Christmas and 5 more)
3. Lose the bad attitude about my body.
4. Run a 10K.
1. Take a yoga class at least once a week (they're free at my work so I have no excuse).
462. 5 days a week kept free of cake/chocolate/cookies - then have two 'treat' days.
3. Maintain current exercise (3-5 days per week, running/strength/gym etc)
4. Lose about 10 lbs - this all depends on what I eat and especially see resolution 2 (above).
1. Start Pilates (2 or 3 days per week).
472. Stop dieting (because it's frustrating, unealthy, and brings a bad image of the body).
3. Accept myself (because I don't need to lose weight actually, since my IMC is perfectly normal. It's all in my head >_
1. Spend more time at the library and less at the bookstore.
482. Go to bed earlier.
3. Get into MC OCS, with lots of upper body strength.
Some psychologists believe that the simple fact of writing down the goals you wish to accomplish makes it more likely that you'll achieve them.

49Mine would be and I'm determined to keep them.
1. Exercise more and actually stick with it. Now I workout religiously for a few weeks and then fall back into a non workout life. I need to do this, I'm getting married in September.
2. Go away for an overnight or a day trip somewhere at least once a month.
3. Find a better job, or start taking classes for something better.
