There are many benefits to working out at home. With your own home gym, you never have to wait in line to use your equipment, it's conveniently open 24 hours a day, you don't have to waste time in the car getting to it, you don't have to worry about strangers' germs, and you're in charge of the TV. So when it comes to working out . . .

I usually do my strength training at home, either with the Wii Fit or on my own, so 2-3 times a week.
1Never! I prefer the gym. I love my gym, haha
2But ok, sometimes i go for a run in the neighborhood or do some sit ups or push ups while watching TV, but i wouldn't call that kind of stuff "working out" really.
My gym membership is limited -- way cheaper -- and I can only go 3x a week there. So I work out 3 days at home and 3 days at the gym. It's great for variety.
3I run and its free being the key issue when a university student, not to mention that I have to get outside or I get cranky.
4I do all my workouts at home, do not care that much for a gym.
You should add to this list in the article to include pick your own music and no one trying to hit on you or talk to you when you really just workout and go and no crowds (I have heard people complain about this lately, due to everyone joining...). Yes, I understand you can take your own music with you to the gym, but whenever I was at a gym I could still hear the gym's music over mine.
5If I had an elliptical or a stationary bike I would work out at home all the time! I definitely plan on getting something like that in the future, as well as a Wii fit and maybe some other equipment.
6I do workout DVDs when I'm too lazy to get in the car and go to the gym. I also do a little exercising with the Wii - which I just got for Christmas! - and I've found things like dodging exercises on the boxing application to be surprisingly harder than I thought they would!
7I wish I had an ellipitcal or treadmill at home, but for me I'm just starting to really do home workouts. Do all my strength training here and only hit the gym for cardio. Lessens the time I have to spend there and breaking up my workouts during the day helps me feel good all day!
8i love my gym membership too much - and plus, paying motivates me to use it!
9I recently discovered Exercise on demand, and have tried a few of those workouts. I am really liking it, and find the ones I've tried to be pretty challenging for an at home workout. It's a nice break from the gym a few days a week, b/c going to the gym all the time gets really boring to me.
10I hate the gym. I work out at home. I have my treadmill, my Wii Fit, and some awesome Pilates DVDs. It's all I need.
11I like working out at home. It's very convenient.
12cardioke, is great, from billy blanks jr, a little silly but fun!
13and def love to do yoga in the morning to get me going! in the winter most definately prefer working out at home!!
I rather do exercise at home, period unless I going out for a walk. I don't care for the idea of going to a public gym when it's less bothersome to get stuff done at home. Plus the point already mentioned about picking your own music is an important one for me.
14bethinabox ditto here $30 a month for my gym is getting too pricey. I would rather buy an elliptical or bike.
15I wish I had room in my apartment for an elliptical, but since I don't I belong to a gym. I also use Netflix to try out new workout videos
16I like exercise on demand too. Some workouts on it can be tough. I like how there is a mix of different kind of workouts from dance to yoga to strength.
Also have a treadmill and a bike that I put on a stand. I also use a service to download workout off of, but I am thinking about maybe dropping this due to problems... I could always go outside too.
17I do yoga and strength training at home, and my condo building has a (free) gym so I use the treadmill there. It's nice to watch what I want on tv while lifting weights!
18swim: at the gym (obv!)
run: outside, or at the gym on the mill if it's too dark
bike: outside, but inside - at my house on my bike trainer - during the winter.
my gym is $80/ month which makes me a little sick but it's (1) 5 minutes from my house, and (2) has an indoor pool.
19I love my gym to pieces! I get way too bored at home; I need a nice big room and slight changes of scenery. Not to mention the steam room and sauna.
20i love exerciseTV... i like to do a 10min yoga almost every morning, just for that extra boost.. and i do a normal 30-45 min workout from there atleast 3 times a week.. somepeople wouldnt be impressed at this, but i havent worked out in almost 3 years and i started doing that 2 months ago... and i feel better... its not about looking better for me... i like the new energy i have and i dont stress over it. 3 years ago i was part of a fitness club/gym and i was there 5-6 days a week... and i always felt like crap, i was doing it for all the wrong reasons.
21I'm lucky enough to have a gym and pools at my apartment complex...I consider that working out at home. But when I get sick of the eliptical or bike, I do kickboxing DVDs or yoga upstairs in my own place.
22It's very hard to work out at home, I rather go to the gym where I can concentrate 100 % on exercise.
23I don't have a gym membership, but my office has a gym that I use during the week for cardio. I usually intend on doing my strength training at home (my goal is 2x in the week and once on the weekend), but I maybe actually work out at home once a week. My intentions are good, but I haven't quite gotten there yet. I do have a couple of yoga and pilates dvd's that I like to do when I actually have the motivation to start.
24I do most of my workout at home, since it's free, warm, and there aren't snotty ass college girls who don't have jobs and do nothing but work out all week staring at my "fat" size 6 ass. I really miss living in Phoenix for one reason - I loved swimming at home!
25At least 5 times a week for me. Having my little stepper at home is great for all the reasons mentioned above.
26i don't workout at home - i have a little apartment so there's no room to even do crunches. luckily the gym is RIGHT next to my office so i go there at least 1x a day
27well, I never work out "at home"; I don't have a treadmill or anything (I so wish I did) but I will go for a run outside often. I think that counts.
28I used to do workout DVDs too-- I really should get back into those. Tae Bo was fun!
I'll do a yoga DVD or a pilates DVD a couple of times a week, for cardio and strength training, I prefer the gym!
29I work out at home for the majority of my workouts because I love that I can watch TV, listen to my own music, I don't have to deal with people being stupid and hogging the machines, and there's no time limit on the machines. I work out at the gym for my strength training most of the time because I don't have enough room for all that equipment in my house.
30i really enjoy working out at a gym on the nice equipment, however if i only have a half hour or so to fit in a workout, i usually do a dvd at home. I highly recommend Jillian Michael's 30 day shred DVD. I just started it and its very challenging and only 20 minutes. There are 3 levels so you can start from the beginning and then increase the level. I know some people find her annoying but her concept is very smart: a circuit consisting of 3 minutes strength training, 2 minutes cardio and 1 minute abs, done 3 times in a row with no breaks.
31once you're on the cardio machine you can't stop
but to start.. ohhhhhhhh laziness attacks haha
32I love exercise on demand. If I don't feel like going to the gym, I do pilates or 30 day shred. I always do ST at home and cardio at the gym.
33One day my goal is to have an exercise room (or at least area) in my home; but being as it is that I am a college student living in a one bedroom apartment, I am limited with space. Usually once a week I will do some strength training in front of the T.V. but I prefer to work out at the gym because I can get distracted when I am at home.
34I love my treadmill. I don't miss the gym at all!!
35Workout dvds at home, but otherwise I use my universities gym.
36I love my treadmill and use it all the time, I also do yoga, pilates, and strength training, all at home. Since switching to at home exercise, I enjoy my workouts much more and you get to watch whatever you want on TV, not having to sit through yet another football game on gym TV was worth it.
37I have a gym membership and primarily use it for my strength training needs and also the awesome classes offered there. But, I also have a tredmill at home which I try to use at least 30 minutes a day. Honestly, I feel awkward if I'm running on the tredmill at the gym... I'm cool with doing anything else but running... the feeling is bizarre and inexplicable. Lol!
38Oops... I just noticed that I mispelled "treadmill." I apologize, but that REALLY bothers my inner english major...
