Figgy pudding may be a traditional holiday dessert, but it isn't exactly the healthiest choice. If you crave something sweet after a meal, give dried figs a taste. If you've never tried this sweet, tasty treat, then you are really missing out. Like dates and many other dried fruits, figs are unexpectedly dessert-like in flavor and texture.

Just three dried figs packs a whopping 10 grams of fiber. That's about 40 percent of the recommended daily allowance of fiber for women. Eating 25 to 30 grams of fiber every day can help reduce your risk or heart disease, so why not get part of your RDI through dessert?

2I'm a huge fan of dried fruit for dessert and tried figs for the first time recently. I have to admit I couldn't finish it!
I'm just not a fan of the crunchy texture from all the little seeds. I do love having a
serving of dried plums, apricots or all-natural fruit leather, though.
3I don't think I've ever eaten fig.
4I LOVE figs!
5actually had a few earlier
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE figs!!! I simply cannot get enough of them. Fresh or dried I can eat them all day everyday and not be sick of them.
I love the texture, especially one that is just squishy enough and love the crunchiness of the seeds. I don't consider them too sweet, but they do have a sugar that helps curve my sugar cravings.
