Buying or heating up a breakfast sandwich may seem like a fab idea until you read this post. Most breakfast sandwiches pack a whole lot of calories in a small amount of food. Personally, I am going to stick to cooking my own eggs.

wow. everyone once in a while I stop by McD's and get an egg mcmuffin...perhaps I will stop?
If you get egg and cheese on an english muffin from Dunkin Donuts, I'm pretty sure it's
Ok that was weird, half my comment got cut off. I was going to say they're less than 350 calories, and also I was pissed when I found out a while back how much fat and calories are in the Einstein's turkey sausage, egg and cheese sandwich!! Those are so yummy, not fair!!
does anyone know how many calories a plain croissant has? with nothing inside?
i think a croissant has about 200 cals, maybe 300.. there's a lot of butter packed into those puppies.. but they're sooooo yummy!! Yeah I try to avoid those breakfast sandwiches..
I went out for a bachelorette party on Saturday, and decided it was a good idea to eat McDonald's for breakfast the next morning when we all left the hotel. I ended up feeling worse from the sausage biscuit then I did from the drinking!
You know, it's takes about 3 minutes to grill a turkey sausage patty and slap it on an english muffin with a slice of reduced fat cheese. It's not the healthiest breakfast for sure... but it beat the nutritionals on the golden arches any day.
yeah muchacha its kind of become a habit to have one for breakfast every morning with my coffee...but i try to make up for it by having a salad for lunch...although 200-300 calories isnt as bad as i imagined..i thought it was more like 400!!
smarler i did the exact same thing once and have never gone back for one of those...ick
It's crazy how the same sandwich varies so much in calories at all the different places.
Mmmm, this is making me hungry.
i usually get a sausage mcmuffin with egg and toss the sausage in the trash, it's $1 and perfect for a broke friday breakfast!
Yum, I love Egg Mcmuffins, lol. *Sigh* - the fatness continues.
I love a good egg mcmuffin too! I'm pretty sure they only have about 300 cals (tho granted most from fat)... I'm not saying it's a good idea to eat one everyday but once in awhile isn't that bad
Every friday, I stop at Tim Horton and eat such a sandwich..ouch..I'll stop!
Thank God these foods never appealed to me. Blech!
Yuck, I don't eat that stuff anymore. Instead I make my own using a whole wheat bagel, egg beaters, fat free cheese, and soy sausage. It's just as good and a lot healthier
breakfast sandwiches and fast food in general gross me out...mostly i just have an egg white omlet with veggies for breakfast.
I agree FitSugar, me too!
WOW! My friend always raves about Atlanta Bread Company - wait until I tell her about this!
I looked up my once-a-week treat of Mickey D's breakfast burritos: 300 calories, 16 g. fat, 830 mg. sodium, 26 carbs, 2 g sugar. The Fruit/Yogurt parfait looks like a better choice, but sadly the burrito will probably still win most of the time.
I can't stand fastfood in general, so this doesn't bother me. I always make my breakfast and lunch from scratch.
well i like having the spinach & eggs florentine sandwich at starbucks once in a while..and they are 390 calories..i guess once in a while is ok..i'm glad i stopped eating the mcd's sandwiches..
Nothing at McD's is healthy, the the McGriddle is one of the worst offenders. Egg McMuffin isn't too bad, compared to their other options. Fast food makes me feel worse after eating it than being hungry does though...
anytime i order a breakfast sandwich from a fast food restaurant i almost always cut it in half and throw the other half away, saves your body from a lot of calories
I cut my once in a life time breakfast sandwhich in half and throw the rest away as well. BUT today I had a Mc D's Egg McMufin and ate the entire meal because I hadn't eaten in 24 hours
and was dying for a full tummy. But usually I don't eat the whole thing. I know how fattening
they are. They don't even taste that good after eating half of it anyways.
Mmmmm bacon, egg, and cheese bagels with a diet coke from McD's after a night of hardcore drinking just hits the spot, ya know?
I'm a smart girl though now and make my own, low fat, low cal version at home. I also like to splash soy sauce in my eggs so it becomes a very special order
the lean pockets ones are GREAT!!!!!
I make my kids egg sandwiches at home that they eat in the car on the way to school. No cheese or sausage though. Just whole wheat english muffins or lavash bread and egg beaters. Not all the cheese and cholesterol and they love them with an OJ.
The girls and I at work are addicted to making our own breakfast sandwiches. We use 3 slices of ham, one slice of cheese, and an english muffin. This only has 235 calories, not too bad! Make sure to toast the muffin and then heat the whole sandwich up in the microwave for 20 secs. I always dip mine in spicy mustard! MMM MMM Good!
Wow I love these yummy breakfast sandwiches. I don't eat them often and probably will eat them a lot less after looking at this list. I had NO idea that they were THAT bad. It makes me look at them a lot differently. lol
I like to eat oatmeal with a. sunflower seeds & raisins or b. egg whites. I do this 6 days a week. On Saturday, I allow myself to eat whatever breakfast food I want. I usually eat bacon, egg, and cheese bisquit (sp).
Mmmm. We don't have Dunkin Donuts here in CA (may be a blessing in disguise because I would be there every single freaking day they're so good) but I go get my brekfast fix every now and then with the Burger King crossiant with bacon instead of sausage. So yummy, but I feel so guilty afterwards. Oiye. I had an McMuffin once and immediately felt sick. McD's is not my friend.
I am soooo not a fan of the fast food breakfast sandwich...sometimes I make my own, with a plain egg on wheat toast. Kind of boring, but those sausage patties are so gross!
That's why I don't eat breakfast!!
I like to get egg and sliced tomatoe on rye bread. It is tasty and not too bad for you.
Eggs ..Turkey Bacon on a whole wheat english muffin MADE AT HOME...my best option I think lol
hahaha @ a geek.
I'm vegetarian now but I have to admit I used to love the Croissan'wich from Burger King when I was a kid. So greasy and cheesy! But now that I'm a grown-up I have a bowl of oatmeal crisp cereal when time permits.
OMG that is disgusting!
