We've all seen Tyra go on her ty-rades about her body and how the media perceives her. Ever since the whole bathing suit drama, I think she's been looking pretty fabulous these days and I've been wondering what she's been up to...
Well, her trainer Martin Snow of The Trinity Boxing Club gives UsWeekly the scoop on what Ms. Tyra's been doing to get bikini ready and to really give the paparazzi something to talk about:
US: What kind of moves do you do with Tyra?
Martin Snow: I have a boxing gym so I basically do the moves with her that a fighter would do. She tends to get bored just doing conventional stuff. She has an athletic body, so I just try to bring it out. She responds very well to exercise. I do old-man Charles Atlas workouts. Stuff that old-time fighters used to do to get in shape.US: What kind of client is Tyra? Is she really motivated?
MS: She is fantastic. She is very driven and works hard and is super nice. If someone is really enthusiastic, that charges up the trainer. I have to motivate someone, but then I get motivated again.US: When she came to you six weeks ago, did she have a specific area that she wanted to workout?
MS: We don’t target-train people. If you train like an athlete, a byproduct of that will be looking good. She will do what it takes to get in shape.US: What is a typical routine?
MS: I bring her over to the park. We will do some warm-ups, some running drills, a parachute run, where I put a parachute around her and she runs with it. We will do some medicine work where she will take heavy medicine balls and run and chase after them, and throw them at at different angles. We challenged these guys to handball but they punked out. A game like handball is great. And then we do kettle bells. I bring them out to the park. They are fantastic tools. For women, they are awesome. They target the core and you can do it every day. She is getting a pair for home and for work.US:How often does she workout?
MS: She comes in around three times a week now. And each time it’s different. We will take these old tractor tires and she will swing sledgehammers. We do bags filled with sand. And of course the boxing.US:How long do the sessions last?
MS: Around and hour to an hour and half. She is not afraid to get dirty. She is not afraid to go to the park and have people look at her like she's crazy. She is not worried about image.US: Does she do crunches?
MS: No, I really stay away from doing anything you would find in a health club routine. We're very low frills. If you can plug it in, we probably don’t use it. And if it was invented after 1950, we don’t use it. It’s very effective. You don’t need expensive equipment or high tech stuff. Just hard work.

I love Tyra for her courage.
1And her trainer is speaking so much truth especially what becomes to the expensive tools and stuff.
Nice comments by her trainer- I like the "no frills" stuff too! And props to Tyra for not worrying about people looking at her.
2Good on you, Tyra
3I have to say, Tyra is more awesome to me now. That is some serious hard work! Work it girl!
4that was awesome
::hugs tyra::
5I really like Tyra , but wasnt she just saying accept your body for the size you are but then shes working out like crazy and going on a diet to lose weight and inches????
6I agree completely with tifygodess24. All those episodes and magazine covers about acceptance and body size are out the window, now. That wasn't even a few months ago, it seems. I don't know, I'm disappointed in her since she's so wishy washy. It's just the standard TV talk show bs, whatever works well for ratings at whatever time.
7Ugh, LW
I think you can accept yourself 25 pounds or so heavier, but also work toward a goal of losing that weight. I don't think it is a double standard at all. Isn't that what Fit Sugar is all about? Loving yourself, being healthy, and doing what makes you feel better?
8what are kettle bells?
9Tyra's trainer is right. I use to be all about the fancy equipment, etc. About a year ago I started working out at CrossFit...it is amazing. Basically it is what he is describing here. Jump roping, pull ups, squats, lunges, and kettlebells. Kettlebells are the best...they come from Russia, they are called Russian Kettlebells. They work your entire body and the exercises you do with them get your heart rate up so you are getting cardio at the same time. My body has changed SO much in the last year...now I actually have a six pack
!
10That is really cool, I wish I could afford a personal trainer. I get bored with my exercise routines.
11I think that's awesome! I've been in boxing and kickboxing since i was about 14 and absolutely love it. It's such a fun way to burn the calories! And talk about a stress reliever!!
12Every time I watch that I get the chills.. I love Tyra
13I really want to try this! It seems like a lot of work, but well worth it!
14Wow!
15She's amazing!
I definalty think differnet of her know and respect her for what she just said!
She made me cry
16She is amazing
She definately keeps it real...
17aww yay..that little clip was so inspiring..I love her
18Tyra Banks is wonderful. I think so many women can learn a great lesson from her!
19Her hair is screaming for volume, it makes her look old, but beside that shes wonderful
20Tyra Banks is one of the most inspiring woman out there.. so real and truthful! yay Tyra!
21i can't say i'd look to tyra for diet advice, she seems to go up and down 30 lbs every few months. i', glad she's embraced not being a twig.
22I didn't get to see that episode...good for you Tyra! My friend got tickets to see her show since she is now in NYC.
And there is nothing wrong with wanting to exercise and living a healthier lifestyle. I'm pretty sure if Tyra really wanted to be a skinny twig, she could had been one by now. But she hasn't, because that isn't her goal.
23This gurl is the bomb. Truly need to hear more gurlz speak this way. We need to be proud of whom we are despite societies ridiculous expectations.
24Good for her! She is so strong, and I really admire her. I feel a little better about myself now.
25Yeah so yea for Tyra. Don't get me wrong I love her. But what about real people that don't have the money for a trainer, gym membership, and ect? I luck out and have a work out area at my work. Crappy that it is, I still use it. And I get bored with it. If we all had the money we all would look that good.
26does Tyra ever seem fake to some people?
27Not fake really, just irritating.
28yeah, I agree with Country Betty. She's so melodramatic and self-centered sometimes. I like to play a little drinking game while watching ANTM wherein I take a drink every time I see a pic of her plastered somewhere....walls, on her "Tyra Mail", when she's telling everyone about how she modeled for Paris' elite. Ok, just kidding, but I think it'd be even more effective than "The Big Lebowski" drinking game.
