It's Wedding Party Week here on the Sugar pages, and FitSugar has been loaded with some wonderful ideas for alternative bachelorette parties. However, if you are planning on going the traditional route you might just get loaded yourself. Here are a few tips for dealing with the hangover that might happen if you get a bit more than tipsy at your bachelorette party.
- Drink water before you go to bed!!! It is no joke that alcohol dehydrates you.
- Your skin will also feel the effects of dehydration from alcohol, so before you go to bed, slather on face moisturizer to prevent that dry feeling when you wake up.
- Nip the headache in the bud and take two ibuprofen tablets, to help diminish the headache and body aches that accompany a hangover.
- Clean up!!! Take a nice hot shower upon waking - alcohol resides in your pores, the steam from your hot shower will help sweat out the alcohol and the smell.
- Juice it!!! Drink juice - fructose, such as honey or fruit juice, may help your body burn the alcohol faster.
- Physical activity (wink - wink, nudge nudge) can help your body burn through the excess alcohol by eliminating the toxins by sweating.
My buddy DearSugar has some suggestions for dealing with hangovers.
Please remember to drink responsibly and never, ever drink and drive.

And don't forget to have a little food on your tummy!
1THE BEST HANGOVER CURE IS: Drink as much water as you can before you got to bed, AND TAKE A MULTIVITAMIN. I'm telling you, it is the only thing that works for me. Sometimes I can't even tell I drank the night before...no lie.
2It helps if you drink water in between your alcohololic drinks as well. For instance: one cocktail, one glass of water, another cocktail, another glass of water. And then before you go to bed more water, water, water!
3In the morning: a nice shower and a walk! Get some fresh air!
water is of course, a must. i don't really get hungover, but when i do, I always go swimming, take a shower, or soak in tub. it really helps a party girl like me.
4oh yeah, i forgot to add, that you should also replenish your lost electrolytes with a sport drink like gatorade or something, it really helps.
5All golden tricks indeed.
6Actually, you should never take an ibprofen before you go to bed after drinking. Any effects from the tablets will have worn off by the time you wake up. Plus it can cause even more damage to your liver because it is already working so hard to get the alcohol out of your system that the ibprofen hits it and makes it work even harder. My dr actually told me this the last time I went in. However it definitely helps in the morning, that is for sure!
7Will be a while again before I experience one, but I always found that if I drank water while drinking and drank some at the end of the night, I fared way better the next day. It's so true, you NEED to hydrate!
8For me, no hangover vs. a hangover is the difference between getting at least a full eight hours of sleep, and not. If I only get 6 hours, I very likely will be sick sick sick the next day. But if I get 8-10 (weekends!) I feel the same as if I had stayed in and watched a movie.
