There has been no shortage of newborns in Hollywood this year, as celebrities seemed to give birth like dominoes. Some new mamas shed their post-pregnancy weight in a matter of a couple months (which is no small feat), revealing their slimmed-down bods in bikinis and on red carpets. Which of these celebrity moms deserves the Best of 2008 title?

Angelina was thin even when she was pregnant, so she doesnt count in my mind. Same for Nicole Ritchie and Nicole Kidman.
It's a toss up between Halle and Alba, but Alba wins.
1I voted for Lopez because I feel like she might have had to work a little harder at it.
2Tough choice. But I say Gwen. Like what some said, a few of them were skinny even during their pregnancy.
3Def NOT Nicole Richie, even though this site is obssessed with her. She looks so skinny to the point of being unhealthy. Although that is to be expected, given her own obssession with weight
4Am I the only one who finds this post a bit offensive? All of these women have the $$ to hire a personal chef, personal trainer, nannies, etc etc, and all of them are in the public eye, of course they are going to get in amazing shape after having a baby....IT'S THEIR JOB.
5In my opinion, Nicole Ritchie was way too skinny before she was preggo, but I think the pregnancy did her body a lot of good!
6I would've said Jolie or Richie, but they were already skinny, along with some of the others. I said Christina because like Halle & Jessica (alba) she worked for it! However, I like her the best
I'm sure Alba had to work pretty freaking hard though, since she's made it
clear she's not naturally thin- but I don't like her, I think she's too vain! Maybe the baby will help though, as I think its even helped Nicole Richie
7I agree, this post is offensive. Should we be celebrating Nicole Richie's slimdown when she was so obviously anorexic pre-pregnancy? I voted Jennifer Lope because I think she's gone about losing baby weight in a healthy way.
8I chose Jessica Alba, I remember seeing bikini pictures of her shortly having her baby and she looked awesome! But I have to agree with Hamsterpants, for a lot of these women, looking good is their job! If we all had the support staff they have after having a child, many women could rebound to pre-pregnancy quickly!
9None of them. These women are setting unrealistic expectations for the rest of the population, coming back 2 weeks after giving birth looking red-carpet-ready, and shrugging off their transformation with "I just do yoga and pilates." Please.
10it's interesting that so many people have voted for jessica alba since i don't think that she was the biggest change, if you think about it, it probably should have been jennifer lopez since she had twins and now she's tiny -but i said nicole richie cause she was back to super tiny in no time.
nicole kidman didn't even look pregnant to me when she was just about to deliver so i feel like she was just one of the lucky ones.
11I agree this post is completely offensive.
The focus and pressure placed on the post pregnancy body is ridiculous. There is a difference between being healthy and what is being advocated here.
12I would've picked Alessandra Ambrosio(sp?). did you see her on that runway?!
13I agree with the posts above, I don't think it's right to pressure women to loose all the baby weight in two weeks. It's not healthy. To most women it takes months, when you have to take care of a baby you can't be working out all the time.
I voted for Halle Berry because she didn't get back in shape in two days, it took a while for her, like it does to most women, and she looks fantastic now. Christina, Jessica and Jennifer look great and healthy. Angelina, Nicole Ritchie and Nicole Kidman look way too skinny - I don't think we should be celebrating their "slimmed-down" bodies.
14Definetly Jessica Alba. She looks amazing! And like skiwi, I think Alessandra Ambrosio definetly looks amazing post-baby!!! She should've been on this list.
15Giada! She looks so beautiful on the cover of this months SELF.
16I agree with everyone else who thinks this post is a bit offensive. It's not a freakin' race to see who can get the skinniest the fastest after having a baby. Yeah, you can leave your 6 week old with a nanny for 2 hours a day so you can do your workout and hire a personal chef cook your food, but isn't it more important to be bonding with your baby? I mean, I think we should be looking to women that slimmed back down in a more realistic time frame for motivation.
17I said Halle Berry, hers seemed natural and not too forced. But if anything I think Nicole Richie is a bit healthier now, not a slim down but I think it helped her body the most.
18I didn't vote.
19I think this post is ridiculous and offensive. I thought this site was about being healthy and fit not who can lose the most weight in 2 weeks.
ITA agree with Spectra!
I mean it took 9 months to put on the weight right? Why not take it off at a reasonable pace?!
20FitSugar,
Why did you repost this? When I looked last night his post had been taken down. When I saw that it was gone I thought "good for you, FitSugar."
I wonder what these Sugar websites are trying to accomplish with all of the focus on "bikini body!" and "post-baby slimdown!" Maybe you can clue me in?
21Maybe we should all stop focusing on new moms slimming down and celebrate their other achievements - like motherhood?
22I would say Jennifer Lopez,
because she is older than alot
of the others and she is also
not naturally skinny.
She had twins and worked HARD
training for a triathlon..
Which she completed.
She deserves an award for that accomplishment.
It takes more than a nanny to make this happen.
23It takes discipline and hard work.
Everyone looks great after they had their babies!
24OH GEEZ. I am not at all offended by this post, because I recognize the difference between REPORTING ON women losing lots of baby weight and PRESSURING women to lose lots of baby weight.
And I voted Jessica Alba, because she's not one of those stick skinny girls, and it was probably a little harder for her to get the weight off, but man did she look rockin' in those bikini pics!
25I thought Giada had her baby in 2007?
26ugh. cannot stand jessica alba for some reason :\ I voted for Gwen Stefani. . . it seemed to me she didn't go from being pregnant one day to stick thin the next, unlike some of the other celebrities named. Awards should also go to J.Lo and Christina because both seemed to take their time and worked hard for the pre baby weight.
27Gwen. Because she didnt jump on the skinny bandwagon and she's taking it easy, plus she looks great!
28I didn't even know all these people had babies this year. While I don't find this post horribly offensive, I definitely understand that opinion. It does create unreaslistic expectations for women who see the celebrities and think, "what's wrong with me that I can't do the same thing?"
29I think Jennifer and Angelina because they had twins and look amazing!!
30none of the above. i vote for debra messing!
31Uhm, maybe we shouldn't focus so much on losing baby weight as quickly as humanly possible? That shouldn't be a reward; its women feeling pigeon-holed to do so, lest they be ridiculed by the media. So, no.
32I don't find this post offensive at all. If you take care of yourself while pregnant and make getting back into shape, not so much slimming down, important to you then you will find a way (even without a personal trainer). It bothers me to hear women hating on each other for doing something positive for themselves.
With that said Angelina has always been thin, she seems to have trouble keeping weight on (like some of my thin friends), so I can't count her. I don't think she tried or really hit the gym. I wanted to say JLo because as a Hispanic woman having twins with a already curvy body, she looks great, but I picked Nicole Kidman cause I admire her food and work out ethic she had while she was pregnant. True you should eat more when your pregnant, but what "more" you choose to eat makes all the difference. I'm sure your baby's development prefers spinach to ice cream.
33Oh, where is the Victoria Secret model Alessandra? Now she looks great, so much so I forget she's had a baby this year.
34I don't like this post. I think maternity is a serious business and nowadays it seems that its only value is this race. Anyone could do the same with 3 nannies, a trainer and a cook. Of course being pregnant doesn't mean to put on 30 pounds but I don't see the focus on health here.
