I love and crave salty foods, so I'm careful not to consume more than the daily recommended intake for sodium. Prevent consuming too much salt by expanding your focus when you're scanning nutritional labels for fat and calorie content to the rest of the finely printed information. Take the quiz to test your sodium knowledge, and keep in mind that many healthy foods contain a ton of sodium.

3/5. It's those McDonalds fries...but they've STILL got tons of calories and fat, even if it's not as much sodium...not a good choice anyway! =D
1Oops, I did the quiz too fast and missed the fact that it kept changing between "less" and "more" . . . but strangely, I think that may have brought my score up! I'm with you, margokhal, the french fries threw me, too.
2Ha, I used the counterintuitive answering method. It brought my number up. Otherwise, I would have scored 1! Woo hoo. But this does underscore what appears to be low sodium versus what truly is low(er) sodium. For me, I'd better think twice or thrice. Or just eat counterintuitively!
3I avoid McDonald completely. I would rather skip a meal than eat there.
4I don't really understand why sodium is a big deal. As far as I've learned in my nutrition classes, sodium only becomes a problem if you are at risk for high blood pressure. If you're not, your body can handle the temporary increase. Am I wrong?
5I thought these were pretty tricky.. I don't eat any of those things, bleh.
6how come i always think that the answers were so obvious and that's not really the case?
7This quiz just made me want McDonald's fries...anyone else feel that way?
Alenka, I agree...I eat lots of salty food. I mean, I don't drown every meal in soy sauce or anything, but what's the big deal?

9YAY
Well, too much salt can but a strain on your heart, plus it also makes you retain water. Neither are pleasant!
