I've been a fan of Tina Fey ever since she was on SNL. With her hit TV show 30 Rock and her recent outstanding imitations of Sarah Palin, I love her even more. She's adorable, smart, and smokin' all rolled into one.
Apparently, she wasn't always as slender as she is now. In a recent Vanity Fair interview, she says that during her early SNL period, she started dieting after seeing herself on camera. She weighed around 150 pounds, and though that's not much for a 5'4" frame, she felt she was starting to look unhealthy. She said, "I looked like a behemoth, a little bit." The star joined Weight Watchers right away. This program involves a pretty strict point system that limits the amount of calories you take in. Good for Tina for losing weight in a healthy way. You can catch her on the cover of January's Vanity Fair looking fabulous.

Good for her! I really like seeing celebs break through the fad diets and do it the right way. I can also vouch for Weight Watchers. I joined in March of 2006 and hit goal in August of 2007 after losing just over 70lbs. I love my new, healthy lifestyle.
1well this just shows you that if you're able to monitor your in take and be healthy about things - then that's a good thing. she looks fantastic - and it's great that she realized how things were going when she could get a handle on herself. i'm proud of her!
2that's my wight and height... yeap, it's a bit too much. anyway, she did a great job. look at those legs!
3She looks wonderful...and I WANT THAT DRESS!
4She looks HOT in VF.
and love that she is smart, funny, AND hot ... not some moron airhead!
(and hippiecow-- congrats on the 70 lbs! 'weigh'
to go!)
5Weight Watchers is the most realistic diet I know of. I believe in it because nothing is off limits; it's just about controlling your portions. She always looked good to me, it never struck me that she needed to lose some weight during her early SNL days.
6yeah weight watchers pretty much rocks. i've been active my whole life, always had muscle, just always felt like i needed to get rid of the layer of fat, ha....joined at the end of april this year and have lost 30 pounds thus far....it's an amazing program, i eat really well, never skip, go out for great meals and wine with my boyfriend, and still lost. seriously, it's AMAZING.
7Fit, I just want to thank you for the following statement:
"She weighed around 150 pounds, and though **that's not much for a 5'4" frame**..." (emphasis added)
I've never heard anyone admit that on a health-based blog--I'm 5'4' and have gone from 180 to 145 lbs and feel GREAT. Then I read some "health" writer's ramblings about how huge my weight is for my body. Thank you for being a bit more realistic.
And I agree, Tina is an inspiration and looks great!
8I can express surprise honestly here, because I believed that 150 lbs. was quite a lot for a 5'4" woman. I am 5'8" and weigh 150 lbs. and am trying to lose some...in a healthy way (lots of work I'd rather not do!)
9Sugasuga, I agree. I am 5'7" and I weigh 146 pounds. I still feel like I need to lose some more. I think 150 seems heavy for 5'4", but I guess it all depends on the person.
10how much does she currently weigh now? I'm 5'4" so it would be interesting to compare. She does look healthy and fit.
11She is sooooo beautiful. I love that she embraces her ineer nerdy girl and lets it shine through. I hate when girls/women abandone who they really are in favor of trying to be like "insert-name-of-starlet-here" because they think this is what will get them noticed. I hate to say it (and I consulted with quite a few guys I know about this) in a sea of the same old clevage and same old ill-fitting dress you can always spot the hot-librarian (who's hotter because she doesn't advertise it and stays true to who she is).
I love hot librarians...I bow to the queen.
12I also hate when i type stuff and don't check it for errors...sorry 'bout that folks.
13I love Tina Fey! I think it's great that she is a "normal"-looking celebrity who doesn't seem obsessed with her weight. And I love her style!
