There are many things that interfere with sleeping through the night. Be it a husband who snores or an overly blue, overly bright digital alarm clock. There is another thing that wakes many of us up at night, and by the photo below, I bet you can guess what I am talking about.
Waking up with that full bladder feeling, knowing you won't be able to fall back asleep unless you stumble to the bathroom to go, is just another annoying thing that interferes with a good night's sleep. Some people just always have to go in the middle of the night, and some don't. When I was pregnant, having to go in the middle of the night plagued my sleep. Enough about me, how about you . . .

Do da do do.
1it depends...
2usually i have to go first thing in the mronign when I wake up (6:45 am). Usually I can hold out till then!
Every single freakin' night. At least once, usually twice. It annoys the heck out of me.
3I never wake up in the night to pee. If I wake up it's because the dog woke me up bc HE has to pee!
4Sometimes...it depends on how much I drank that day and how deep I'm sleeping. Usually I sleep all the way through the night, but sometimes I'll get up to pee, especially if I've had a lot of coffee that day.
5i drink a lot of water all day long so i usually get up at least 2x, i'm used to it though, it doesn't disrupt my sleep.
6Actually I gotta vote other. Recently I spent about six weeks away from home in a house rented by my company where I lived with some co-workers. I had to go in the middle of the night, a few times before I closed my eyes, etc. It was out of my character and I was wondering if I was developing bladder issues. Then I came back home... and nothing. The problem is gone.
7between snoring hub and pug, I am always waking up and generally "go" once a night
8Every freakin night.
9Oh jeez, I wake up like 4-6 times most nights to pee. I pee alot during the day too, though... I've been to the doctor several times, been on medications, nothing worked. It's pretty crappy.
10depends on what i drank. if i was "drinking"...like booze of any sort...then i'm peeing every hour on the hour. but otherwise i can sometimes sleep the whole nite, sometimes not.
11I have a REALLY hard time waking up in the morning. So often I drink a TON of water before I go to sleep to ensure that I get out of the bed first thing in the morning!!
...this often backfires and I'm stumbling around at 3 am. Sucks.
Plus, I live in Hawaii and there's always the good chance that when I flip on the bathroom light in the middle of the night I'll see a cockroach running across the floor. I never know whether it's better to just leave the lights off.....
12Hehe, plus_2_kid, I used to live in Hawaii, so I know what you mean about the cockroaches. There was this one time that I walked into the bathroom, turned the light on, and was so shocked by one that I actually ran smack into the closed door. The thought still makes me giggle, though it didn't at the time.
13oh, i hope it never happens to me. i'm just too lazy to get out of my lovely warm bed. i always make sure i go right before sleep though.
14i read the comments, so weird, if i drink a lot, and i usually go, 4 liters a day probably or more, it goes right through me in 30min. so drinking a lot all day and peeing during the night doesn't really makes sense to me.
i pee during the night when i'm drunk
and if a wake up because of noisy neighbours.
as soon as i'm awake i neeeeeeeed to go, be it 2am or 10am
condolences to everyone who wakes up more then once a night...
15Every single freakin' night!! I hate this so much because I already have a hard time falling asleep and then I have to do it twice. I usually try to not drink anything after 8pm but sometimes I get thirsty right before bed :-/
16Lately I've been really thirsty in the evenings and that means more trips to the bathroom in the night. Usually it's just once, but it's still annoying.
17The cockroaches issue gives me the HEEBIES. Suddenly living in Wisconsin has its merits.
I usually end up having to get up at least once, because I'm on sleeping pills that recommend a glass of water with the meds. Whose bright idea was THAT?!
18I never did before I moved into our apartment and I started working. Now I get up almost very night. I drink about twice as much water as I used to. I guess that's why.
19I always go to the bathroom right before I settle down for a good night's sleep. Usually, that keeps my bladder at bay. But no matter what, I always have to go very badly at about 6AM. Sometimes I just hold it until I'm ready to get up, but I'm afraid I'm doing myself harm.
20there have been times when i've woken up a lot in the middle of the night to pee and i got a night light for my bathroom since i would always wake all the way up if i had the light on - and if i was in the dark, then i would trip over things. it's a real pain in the butt because i'm one of those people that wakes up fully and then i can't ever go back to sleep
21I go through periods of this, usually when I'm stressed out or adjusting to living in a new place [even in the same time zone!]. It's usually a two-week stretch where I get up at EXACTLY the same time every night (like 3:17 am) and have to go. Has anybody else ever had this?
It's funny, as annoying as it is, it doesn't affect my alertness or rest...but it's a pain in the butt to get back to sleep!
22almost never, I usually don't wake up in the middle of the night for any reason, not even the fire alarm
23hardly ever, I usually go just before bed and then again once I wake up
24I'm pregnant, so yes, a lot. But never really did pre-pregnancy.
25I can not pee for days. Okay maybe not days, but I can hold it in forever.
26yup
27OMG you people who sleep straight thru all night don't know how lucky you are! I'd give almost anything to sleep for a straight 8 hours without waking up once! I think I did that when I was 17 or 18. I can't even remember for sure how wonderful that must be. I usually pee 1-3 times a night. And it really SUCKS big time when my mind turns itself on and I cannot fall back asleep. I HATE THAT!
28I put "no" because under normal circumstances I don't wake up for anything. However, I'm in early pregnancy. I know that in a few months I will be waking up to go to the bathroom every couple of hours. That's how it was last time.
29thank you...it's good to know I'm not alone
30The only time I don't pee at night is if I stop drinking around 7pm and if I exercise about an hour before I go to bed. Other than that I sometimes go 3 times/night.
31People think it's weird I go in the middle of the night. I think they're weird for not.
32Only if i drink water right before bed. So I definitely try not to, as I hate HATE to get out of bed when i'm all cozy.
33I never used to. Then after the kids my bladder became less than a friend to me. It's 2 or more times a night. And that nonsense about kegels.. ugh. I'm one of those people who can't go back to sleep usually without thinking for an eon. It sucks! Sometimes I try to go several times before bed and then pop a benadryl. Probably not wise but sometimes I just HAVE to sleep.
34Never. I'm so thankful for that. Once I am sleeping I am out, I don't wake up for anything. Kind of sweet, but if there was a fire I'd be toast!
35If something wakes me up in the middle of the night, then I have to get up and pee. But, I usually sleep soundly, but the first thing I do when I wake up is go!
36Argh...! Pretty much every single night.
I went to the doctor and they told me
everything was normal. I just have a small bladder.
My bladder seems to have a maximum time of
6 hours.
