Some of you have families that get active on Thanksgiving and some of you don't. Regardless, if you play touch football before your feast, you should definitely go for a walk after it. Walking, strolling even, aids digestion.

Gravity helps keep your food moving through the proper channels, which is necessary if you have stuffed yourself silly. Even better, take a walk before you eat too. Getting moving premeal is kind of like paying it forward for your cardiovascular system.
So take a walk with your loved ones, instead of plopping on the couch to watch a game before or after your feast. If you need to escape some overbearing relatives a breath of fresh air, this is the perfect excuse to get out of the house and go for a stroll.

2So my mother decided (at the last minute) to invite over this family from their church so we had 6 extra people at Thanksgiving. The house was jammed with people and I was so stressed out...I HAD to take a walk after dinner just to get a little peace and quiet! I came back a lot calmer and in a much better mood.
3that's definitely something that's smart - if you walk around a bit after having some of that delicious meal. i know that this year for myself, my fiance and i threw the frisbee around a bit after dinner (or lunch as it was this week) and that's how we got our food to process and settle a bit better. it beats taking the post meal nap - that's for sure.
