Confessing my health and fitness slip-ups to you guys make me feel human again, especially after reading everyone else's confessions. I thought it might be wise to enter into Thanksgiving week with a clean plate conscience so I've have a new confession to make . . .
The other morning at the grocery store, I innocently slipped a bag of Barbara's Cheesy Puffs into my cart. This is not an item I usually buy, but for some reason I did not question my actions. Minutes after unloading my groceries, I opened the puffs and began to snack. I know that even though these cheesy puffs are "all natural" and made with "real cheese" they are not a health food, regardless of being sold in many health-food stores. Over the course of the day I ate the entire bag — seven servings. Needless to say, I had no appetite for dinner and my tongue hurt. I felt rather crappy for a couple of days after gorging myself on cheesy puffs.
So there you have it, I've told you mine, now you tell me yours. Got anything you need to get off your chest? Share your health blunders below and I promise you'll feel better. We all are human, and we all make mistakes, and we all move on.

Ha! We (me, my husband and two little girls) are about to embark on a cross-country road trip for Thanksgiving. SO, we have purposely refrained from going to the grocery store and buying new food, since we'll not be there to eat it. Which translates to eating take-out chinese two days in a row, with some Wendy's thrown in for good measure. Now that the trip looms a day away, we face all those great truck-stop snacks and eat-out meals for a day-and-a-half! Needless to say, we are feeling plump but happy!
1... I drank a liter of orange soda in a day...
2An entire pint of light Phish food in 2 separate sittings but in one day! I just can't have ice cream without having my boyfriend or someone there to share it with. From now on I'm sticking to Skinny cow cones.
3I bought a half-gallon of Peppermint Ice Cream the other day (it's my favorite!), and ate 1/3 of it in one sitting. Oops.
4I just had a donut and three pieces of licorice. I know that doesn't sound awful, but I'm going to Mexico in less than a month and swore to myself I'd be good until then!
5I want bowling on Saturday night. I ate fried food for dinner with a side of fried food followed up with many beer chasers. Fries, popcorn chicken and onion rings do not all belong in one meal. They just don't.
6Had too many cookies over the weekend.
7i ate a butterfinger bar AND a package of peanut m&ms today... but i feel like they were both justified since i have cramps. i hardly feel guilty at all! haha
8for some reason eating an entire bag of something does not seem crazy to me...i don't know why...
9I had a somewhat healthier eating bonanza I ate a whole box of kashi go lean tlc crackers in about 2 hours 2 days ago...yep and they were delicious
10i got a regular size TCBY chocolate fro yo with cookie dough this afternoon, and even after a few bites i was feeling full.....yet i figured i paid for it, i may as well finish it! i was full for hours and my stomach is still unforgiving
11NYC's own Chicken and Rice (the original at 53rd and 6th, of course) is my guiltiest pleasure. Chicken on the griddle, greasy yellow rice, pita on the side, covered in white yogurt sauce with hot sauce too. It honestly has to be 2,000 calories and I can inhale it in about 15 minutes. I only get it once a month or so, but when work gets nuts and school gets intense, I craaaave it.
12I haven't had this in awhile but I will share my favorite dessert:
Brownie mix, baked in a circle onto one of those round stones.
Once baked, it is covered with a mixture of peanut butter and cream cheese. This mixture is then topped with chopped up Reese's Peanut Butter cups and drizzled with Hershey's syrup.
It's all the wonderful things I like to eat, put together into one wonderful, heart-attack inducing dessert! I have been known to eat very large pieces of this at one sitting, and for my most recent birthday, my mom sent me home with the remaining half, which I ate in less than a week!
13I had six cupcakes at my birthday party (my friend bought them from a specialty bakery as a surprise). Literally one of every flavor - red velvet, pumpkin, pistachio, chocolate, vanilla and lemon - and threw up later that night. I have no self control when I'm drunk
14I just ate 5 slices of pizza for dinner. It was yummy though! But now my tummy kinda hurts...
15Ice cream is my weakness. Whenever I've eaten too much of anything though I feel sooo sick. So, I avoid things I know I'll want to eat too much of. I never crave anything like chips or french fries though - but I do like some sweets!
16Ugh, I've had so much stuff I didn't need today because I'm stressed out.
I think the worst thing I ate today was almost half a box of Whales crackers. They're really greasy...I actually DON'T like them that much, but it's easy absent-minded eating.
17And I drank almost half a gallon of orange juice (and I'm not sick!) for no reason. NONE. And three cups of tea that's like half sugar.
I had a piece of pumpkin pie today! =O
18If I buy dry roasted, salted nuts I always eat like half the bag at once (and the other half the next day.) I don't have this problem with raw nuts, just the roasted ones are horribly addicting to me.
I don't think I'll buy them anymore.
19I was out running errands today so I ate a Double cheeseburger and fry from McDonalds. For dinner I made shrimp/salmon scampi with brown rice. And a few minutes ago I ate a mini Nestle's crunch and Snicker's candy bar. I feel so bad and guilty now!!!!
20Today is my weekly cheat day, when I don't count calories and allow myself to have whatever I feel like without a second thought of guilt.
Today, obv not all in one sitting: I had a pack of pringles, a whole pack of Newman's Own hermit cookies, 2 microwave popcorns, 2 '3 muskateers' chocolate bars, and a big bowl of granola. Now I have a stomach ache.
21I had a chicken wing party... (my cat's still pissed off). I'm not ill yet, I'm online all night just in case. I hate to wake up sick in the middle of the night!
22Yikes! I had a cheeseburger from Wendy's, and after a run no less!
23Fit, don't feel too bad - next time you'll walk in front of Cheesy Puffs, you won't be tempted to buy any.
Sometimes I want to have bad food just to feel like I'm 'treating' myself, but since I'm not used to eating really greasy/sweet stuff, I just feel sick and super
grossed out afterwards. It's stupid but it always calm me down about getting more junk food for a few months!
24For me, it comes way too often that I eat too much.
25Usually, it's never one thing, but a whole lot of little "snacks" that throw me off.
My eating habits leave a lot to be desired...
Garden Salsa Sun Chips. Deliver me from the power of the Sun Chips pleasssssssse tell me how!
26Oh, I totally eat an entire cheese pizza with ranch dipping sauce NO PROBLEM when I am feeling really depressed and over it.
And not even a good pizza. I'm talkin the really cheap crap.
I'm not even really that ashamed of it.
Luckily I havent done it in a long, long time which is amazing considering how depressed I've been of late.
27Sunday was horrible: worked out and then had an apple for breakfast and munchies all day plus coke, then dinner came and I was starved, my mother in law made spaghetti sauce with the side of butter and white bread, needless to say I stuffed myself because I didn't have any food during the day...I hate it when I don't have breakfast! It just messes up the rest of my day. And PMS today, I feel bloated!!!
28I have a problem when I drink...I crave late-night greasy food! I haven't done this in a while, though.
29i've had such a bad week!
30Yesterday at around 1am i had about 4 large bowls of cereal...
I have been preparing for our holiday party in a couple weeks by starting to bake the hundreds of christmas cookies. Needless to say I feel sick from the amount of dough i keep eating. And then I have to test the cookies to make sure they are perfect
31After I ate dinner last night, I opened a HUGE box of Cookie Crisp cereal for a snack and proceeded to eat 2/3rds of the box (17 servings!). I wasn't even really hungry after the first few handfuls, but I was reading a book and mindlessly munching. My stomach hurt so much!
32I ate an entire box of velveeta mac n cheese and felt so crappy afterwards that i threw up and then fell asleep for 12 hours. my body is so not used to that stuff!
33ooh one time in college I was spending the night at a friend's and went with her to run errands after class. At the grocery store I got a bag of the Hershey's caramel kisses, which had just come out. I had my first few right there, and I kept eating. We went home, had dinner, got cute, went dancing, came home, had a snack, and went to bed When I woke up in the morning and got ready to leave I realized that there were only 4 hershey's kisses left in the bag. Somehow, throughout the afternoon, I ate my way through the entire bag!! Man staring at those 4 little pieces really hit it home - "You have a serious problem . . . "
34It's been an off week and it's not even over!!
For some reason, after almost 6 months of not eating Spicy Fritos I picked up a large bag on Sunday and finished the whole thing by Tuesday morning (yeah, I ate some in the morning), then bought a small bag yesterday and finished it within an hour. It was so good, but I felt horrible at the same time. I am done with them. They make me break out. I must remember that when I look at them!! My face gets red spots!
I also ate about 4 baby Snickers bars this week. I have also not done my pilates for 2 weeks. It's been a downward spiral...
I am now fantasizing about eating In and Out Fries Animal Style...Ooozing of the cheese and onions with the tasty fries all in one bite!! I am thinking about just eating them then starting all over come December 1st... Gosh help me.
35I cannot control myself around trail mix. I know it seems healthier than the other crap out there, but it's one of those junk-foods-disguised-as-healthy foods. Check the nutritional content the next time you get trail mix. It's packed with sugar, the nuts have tons of fat (healthy fat, but too much is still bleh), and, moreover, one bag has like 7-8 servings in it. At 140+/serving...well, you do the math. But it's my kryptonite.
