I love my MonaVie. It has a very high antioxidant level, it is made from the Acai berry, one of the highest single "fruit" on the ORAC scale.
The Acai berry is native to the Amazon basin, it is collected without damaging the trees or environment, MonaVie actually donates money to preserve the rainforest so that it's consumers can
enjoy this naturally awesome berry for years and years to come.
I'm pregnant with my first child and am always concerned about getting enough nutrition daily, but taking just a shot of MonaVie every morning helps me rest assured that I get the daily dose
of fruit and vegetables that I need. So, the Acai berry is definitely one to add to the list.
I would have to agree with the Monavie - i too enjoy my Monavie...one 2oz shot in the morning and another at night and i have my 12 servings of fruit for the day/along with all the
antioxidants!! It tastes great too!!! who doesnt love monavie???
i eat a lot of diff fruits, vegetables and bran cereals. in fact my readings (skin carotenoid score)from a bio scan is 68,ooo, the highest one in my group who was tested. i also drink
regularly pomegranate jc, noni jc, mangostene jc, blueberry jc, reversitall plus ( misc grape jc) etc. i drink them alternately ie. i also exercise regularly. i m very proud of my readings.
MonaVie is too expensive to have apple juice as a main ingredient. Apple and pear juice are fillers with no nutriential value. There are cheaper brands in the health supermarkets that are
cheaper and are pure acai berry. Someone tried to get me to sell MonaVie but I thought it was a rip-off.
im always having fun to eat a lot of fruits, whatever time it is,i want to maintain the amount of fruits that i was taking since my younger years,i love fruits
I am on this healthy living journey now...lol i just feel like i do not have all the right info to stay on the right track. there is so many do's and don't etc. in the past i would eat fruits
occasionally but i know how important it is to eat plenty of fruits and veggies everyday! I just have to keep myself motivated. does anyone know where i can buy monavie?
This is for Socktree. Have you ever made brown rice with beans? You use organic brown rice cook 1 cup to 2 1/2 cups of wter or broth of your choice until all liquid is absorbed. I sautee
onions and sometimes green peppers to add near the end with the beans. You can season to your taste. I like cayenne pepper(use sparingly) balck pepper, garlc powder and a little molasses or
brown sugar. That is optional. It is a hearty and healthy dish.
I live in an area of the country that produces a lot of fresh fruit but I too was guilty of consuming what I need to stay healthy. Unfortunately most of the fruit we buy in the stores are
picked green and then gassed to help them ripen to send to market.(yuk!) So I am with the other gals on Monavie. It is cost effective, fresh and tastes great! Also by drinking it everyday I
make sure I am getting 13 servings of fruits high in antioxidents!
socktree.... here is a great one for you. I hope you enjoy
Vegetarian Adzuki Bean Rice Cake
You would like to try this very common, day-to-day sweet snack amongst the Chinese. Very similar to the methods of Steamed Rice Cake, except this is sweet and not savoury. The ones you get
off the shops are usually packed with sugar, but this is made with blackstrap molasses and the amount is reasonably reduced. Moreover, you will know what you are eating.
Ingredients:
1 cup organic adzuki bean
2 cups water
1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
2 cups organic brown or white rice flour
1 cup coconut milk
1 cups soya milk
Preparation:
Boil adzuki bean in water till bean is soft, but with husk in tack, and not mushy.
Place rice flour in a mixing bowl, add in coconut milk, soya milk, and blackstrap molasses. Stir into a smooth paste.
Add in the cooked adzuki bean. Stir well without mashing the beans.
Transfer the paste into a dish or mould, steam it for about 15 minutes, or till the cake is firm to the touch.
Leave to cool before cutting into pieces.
Serve with a hot cup of jasmine tea.
Versatility Note:
The soya milk can be replaced with full cream milk if you wish. But do not use skimmed or low fat milk, it won't do the taste any good.
The blackstrap molasses can also be substitute with melted set honey.
i'd like to see a feature on foods which aleviate personal gas levels versus elevate them. just once i'd like to go on a date where the only body part making embarrassing noises in bed is my
coochie.
MonaVie ingredients include a Proprietary Blend of: Acai (freeze-dried powder and acai puree); fruit juice from concentrate (white grape, nashi pear, acerola, aronia, purple grape, cranberry,
passion fruit, apricot, prune, kiwi, blueberry, wolfberry (Goji), pomegranate, lychee, camu camu); fruit purees (pear, banana, bilberry); d-gulcosamine hydrochloride, esterified fatty acids,
natural flavor, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate.
This stuff is preserved concentrate puree and powder. Not that it can't have a beneficial impact on your health, but it is certainly not worth $30-50 a bottle! You can just about bet that the
"other" juices in the bottle are cheap Chinese quality from concentrate. Seems they don't elaborate on much other than the AMAZING benefits of the MIRACLE prodct. If it's too good to be true?

4Whatever happened to pomegranate? For sure pomegranate packs more anti-oxidant properties than cranberry. Or have I missed something all these years?

You forgot the pomegranates, the persimmons, and the citrus that are winter seasonal foods.
