It's a wonderful time of year, with the Fall leaves changing and multiple holiday gatherings with family and friends in the pipeline. Unfortunately, the busy season can make our already thinly spread lives more stressful than usual, which can lead to overeating and restless nights.
Exercise is always an effective way to destress, but some women find solace in things like cooking, reading, watching an episode of their favorite TV show, talking it out with their partner or friends, taking a leisurely shower or bath, and even cleaning can be a productive way to work through built-up tension. What's your go-to destress tactic?

1sleep
2I bake. A LOT. Sometimes in conjunction with watching Grey's Anatomy Season 2, which I've seen so many times it's just comforting background noise. Every once in a while I call friends, but I have issues with being seen as needy, so I tend to handle things on my own if possible.
3eating and watching tv.
4I have problems, i know.
I like taking my dog out for long walks. She's a German Shepherd, so it's pretty intense. Afterward she's calm, too!
5i love to take a hot bath- it is so nice and calming to be all alone.
6Massage- best monthly investment I've make. It completely de-stresses me and keeps me focused. Also it's a great way to reward myself!
7a glass of red wine and celebrity gossip blogs
8Swim... while running and biking and lifting leave me pumped, I'm always exhuasted and calm after a hard swim.
9refinedharmony - I wish that I could make that investment, since I know it totally works!
10i focus more on my workout, go shopping (mostly window shopping), treat myself to a light coffee frap or a skinny latte, and depending on what is the major stressor, i cry. it really releases everything thats pent up inside.
11I play Guitar Hero or Rock Band, it totally destresses me.

Harmony- I'm with you. Massage is where it's at.
14I eat & get lost in movies and television shows.
I sooo don't belong on FITsugar.--haha!
15Bath, candle, champagne, sleep.
16eat watch comedy shows
not helping i know !
17I clean like a mad woman when I'm stressed, it really helps! Last Thanksgivngish time I remember I scrubbed my kitchen cabinets till the sparkled like new and recalked the main bathroom, and a bunch of other stuff. Oh, that and drink copious amounts. Just not at the same time.
18I take a nap, watch TV, take my dog out for a walk, listen to music and dance around in my underwear lol, or read a good book and get lost in it.
19clean and organize more [I am already a clean and organized nut :)]; high impact cardio; watch favorite comedy show;
20Exercise/walking outside, losing myself in a TV show, movie, or maybe a book
21Sleep is also nice because you feel so much better when you wake up and I notice that some of my best dreams happen when I'm really upset about something so I feel even better after.
doodle in my sketchbook, take a walk, read or play video games.
22i can't fall asleep when i'm stressed. :/
A variety of ways, depending on the situation:
23-Listen to good music, on either the radio or my iPod/iHome (depending on if I want it quiet or loud)
-Journal, to vent my feelings. Or to just get things out so I stop thinking about it (I'm an over-analyzer)
-Read a good book or watching a favorite tv show that's comforting
-Drink lots of water or tea (helps with stress and cravings, and keeps me hydrated!)
-Exercise! Walking with my dog/playing with him, or yoga (along with my regular routine)
-Cleaning... only sometimes, if I have the time, energy, and good music on. I'll get really caught up in it and clean everything in my entire house if I don't pay attention to the time! Haha. Its kind of a stress reliever, I guess
-Reading the Bible and/or prayer works the best, for me at least.
I go on a cleaning spree when I'm stressed. Somehow cleaning and organizing just makes me feel more "together" and ready to tackle whatever the real stressor is. If there's something heavy going on at home and I feel like I just need to get out of my flat, I jump on my bike and go for a long ride. Totally clears my head and helps me refocus. Bikes are the best!!
24I have two separate stress categories: "I need to just let it go" and "Cripes do I need to get something-- ANYTHING done."
For the first: yeah. Bath, comedy shows (the comedy part is important, stand-up like Jeff Dunham is best), tea or hot chocolate.
For the second: I make a to-do list. And then I tape it to my leg. I know it sounds weird, but when your to do list is right there on you leg, you don't lose it or get distracted. And then I proceed to do whatever needs to get done, and feel terribly accomplished afterwords.
25A glass of red wine. A cup of hot tea. Yoga. And yes, a massage, if only I could afford them more often.
26Depends. If it's work related, I try to lie down with relaxing music for about 15mins when I come back from work, and try not to think of anything. It usually helps a lot.
2720 mins of yoga also makes a huge difference!
cleaning, sleeping, and window shopping.
28A bath with candles and my Warm Milk & Honey massage oil.
29i write, read, play video games and draw or paint.
if i'm really stressed i'll go on a directionless journey. i'll just decide left, right, or straight at each crossing or point and end up wherever i end up. (you need to have coffee with you though, it's a rule) ^__^
30Get out of the city if possible, yoga, hug husband, talk to friends, hug them, walk. Cigarettes help with my anger but I don't even go trough a half one.
31I take a bath or have a glass of wine or champagne. Sometimes it helps just to snuggle on the couch with my boyfriend (unless he's the cause of the stress, lol ).
32How funny, I TOTALLY get into a cleaning/organizing mood when I am stressed. I also am a big fan of exercise, tanning (the vitamin D helps me feel better), wine, sex and the city, and spending time with my pups. The best, though, is spending some intimate time with my BF, or just with myself, lol!
33I exercise with lots of cardio so I can run or swim away from stress and I so feel better afterwards. If i can't get to the gym to do so I try to walk or I go on a cleaning spree. Cleaning my room (which gets disorganized a day later) helps me feel balanced. I also read, write and paint. (except if writing or painting is the cause of the stress. argh!!) I also get into baking modes. I just need to bake something and then maybe gorge myself on it. BAD, I know, but i do offer some of the goods to the family (if they're the stressor it butters them up a lil)
34hitting the gym, cooking, cleaning, music, chilling on the couch, video games, taking a bath, and television. i think i can find almost anything that can destress me!
35My husband and I do the sexy workout together. Basically you do the workout together then have sex. It works for me.
36nice latte, sometimes a drink and lots of tv shows like GG, Fringe, One Tree Hill, Dexter and so on
37My first choice would be to fix the problem that is causing me to be stressed out. But if that is not an option, then some kind of high-impact cardio is my next choice.
38Going for a long walk with my dog, relaxing with a nice cup of coffee and the newspaper, cleaning, baking, and working out all help destress me.
39Deep breathing/meditation.
