I have a love / hate relationship with daylight savings. These days the most difficult part is transitioning my little girls onto the new time schedule and trying to motivate to make dinner when it is pitch black outside. However, I find the early morning sun a wonderful motivation to exercise. It is much easier to climb out of bed and run when the sun is up too.

What about you? I want to know if . . . .

I ended up getting up before 7 due to the time change yesterday, so I went for a run with my extra time.
1I woke up, exercised between 9AM and 10AM, washed up, had breakfast, turned on my computer, realized that I really worked out between 8AM and 9AM, and hopped back into bed to watch the Sunday morning news
2I hate DLS because it makes it harder to run in the evenings
3I've tried working out in the mornings, but I prefer to workout in the evenings.
4I woke up at 7 on Sunday and then realized that I forgot to set my watch back. So it was really 6 am...I got my behind out of bed and worked out so I could enjoy the rest of the day.
This morning I woke up at 2:30 to work out before work...so it was still dark, lol.
5I'm so glad you posted this idea the other day FitSugar! I always want to workout in the morning before work, but find it hard to get out of bed and get moving. This morning my boyfriend and I woke up and worked out, and it was so easy because I felt like I was getting up at my usual time. Forget New Years, DSL is the best time to start a new resolution!
6I have been getting up at 5:30 to get on the elliptical, but for some reason, I just couldn't get out of bed this morning. I'll get back on track tomorrow.
7I ran a 10K on Sunday, and the extra hour really helped me get the right amount of sleep. YAY DST!
8Dear Daylight Savings Time,
I love my after-work runs. Thanks to traffic I get home at 6 pm every weekday.
Ever since your visit I've noticed it's been very dark very early.
Please reconsider staying. I hate feeling like I'm going to get raped at 5 pm, 8 pm maybe, but never 5 pm.
Sincerely,
9angelfromlsu
well since i had to wake up at 5am so i could my boyfriend up at the airport and then drive 2 hours to get us back and then go to class
exercise in general today is a no-go im pooped.
10Yeah, it has the opposite effect for those of us who like to go for a run after work. The sun will set where I live before 5 pm!
11I live in Hawaii and we don't do DST and it's pretty much the same amount of daylight all year.
12Not applicable for several months for an Aussie like me!
13Also, it's Daylight Saving, not Daylight Savings.
14Haha... well said angelfromlsu- I feel the same way just going to my car after work. It's so dark and I'm the last one there! I like to workout in my home, so the daylight isn't really an issue.
15I left home in the dark this morning (6AM) and left work in the dark (5:30 PM) so this DLS time is doing nothing for me!
16I always work out in the mornings, DLS made it easier to do it this morning and less cold so I enjoyed it more.
17i need my light in the afternoons, so it's light shorting thing, not saving. i don't get it!
18well - knowing that my day was off a bit - i can't say that i worked out because of the extra hour of daylight , but i did work out
