I'm definitely psyched that the food pyramid I learned about in elementary school was redesigned, but it looks like some people are still into the old horizontal stripes model — hence this Nutritional Pyramid Lunch Box. It's designed to help people make healthier choices when it comes to figuring out how to choose the correct portions of grains, veggies, and protein.

I'm actually surprised no one has thought of this before, but looking at the portions I think I might want more fruits and veggies than rice. Unfortunately, this lunch box is just in the early stages of production and not yet available for sale. I'm curious to know what you think . . .

I think this is great! No more excuses for not bringing a healthy, balanced meal for lunch.
1Oh Goddess I love it!! It reminds me of a bento box which is great for portion control (childrens ones, and they're so cute too!). I've been looking around for the perfect bento and this lil pyramid is good enough for me
Can't wait until it comes out.
And Fit, I agree, I'd rather see more veggies and fruit than rice . . .
2That's really cute. I need some kind of lunchbox.
3very much so
4I like it! It has dividers so you know how much to eat of each thing. Way cool!
5That looks just like a bento box.
The only thing is, that wouldn't fill me up at all if that was all I brought =( How much are you supposed to eat for lunch, anyway?
Speaking of which, I had lunch 2 hours ago and I'm still hungry.....
6v cool but definitely wrong sections in that pic.
7Doesn't really work if you want a sandwich, does it?
8Its super cute, and it can be super healthy. :] which just about clears everything to make it awesome! hahaha Where can one acquire such a trinket?
9Now how to cut my sandwiches this size...
10Really cool! I think it could definitely help with portion control and balanced eating.
11pretty cool
12come to think of it i never thought of that !!!
13Very neat. Good for portion control.
14def. cool, but way too much rice there. it would need to be reworked into better divided sections. i hate when my food mixes, so maybe even having more dividers would be a nice touch
15But what if one thing is supposed to be heated and the rest cold? The different compartments should be removable for microwaving. =/
16i love this - i think that it's adorable.
17Nice idea.
The problem with this is that the macronutrient profiles of foods vary from food to food. Everything doesn't fit into a nice little space.
Kudos to the entrepreneur who came up with this however.
18The food pyramid isn't designed to be a volumetric guide to how much of a certain food we should be eating. Its just a diagram.. The plate with 1/2 veggies, 1/4 grain, 1/4 protein makes more sense for this purpose.
19I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS!!
20Tnx GOD that somebody has thought of this usefull idea...
21brilliant idea that could help make someone else's life beautiful...
where can i order this stuff?? ^o^
I guess it's a good idea in theory, but it really isn't all that practical for the typical boxed luncher. I already count calories and am very good at portion control, but if it helps others, great! I think I'll stick with my nutrition facts calculations.
22Good idea, but it's not for me. My diet is already portion-controlled (by volume, not mass). Also, those sections don't work for me. My diet is more vegetable and fruit heavy, with moderate servings of protein, dairy, and complex carbs.
23It's a great idea
24This is really cute
25Well my food pyramid would be upside down. More veggies at the bottom, moderate protein in the middle and definitely all grains at the very top (the least amount).
26Very cute... I want one! I agree with sundaygreen though. I would definitely use it upside down.
27I disagree on the subject of the proportions of a pyramid as an actual science. I think this neat & "cute". I don't think this is easier to store than Ziploc thingy however.
28Wait... I thought the food pyramid had been scrapped after it came out that it was bread companies that designed it - as in, grains shouldn't be on the bottom at all. How is this image still being marketed?
29so cuuute . I have a similar one (for people with DM that helps control portions) but this one is way cuter.
30I think this is a great idea to take ur lunch to places and eat the right amount and stick to food pyramid chart
31It's a good start, but I definitely think there should be more veggies/fruit in this, and less carb. I also think the carb should at least be a whole grain, wild rice, quinoa, something like that...
32cute but I wouldn't be having so fewer vegies in a meal...
