I've heard some people claim that hot water actually quenches your thirst better than cold water, but that seems counterintuitive. Cold water certainly feels more refreshing, but really, isn't water just water regardless of the temperature? Take your best guess below and tell me what you think the truth is.

I never really paid attention to whether cold or hot quenches my thrist or not. I just always drank it.
There was a study done recently which suggested that room temperature water conveys oxygen to the brain the best. My children's school asks that the kids be sent with water bottles to keep on their desks all day so that they'll be room temp and better for the kids.
I prefer room temperature, too. If it's cold, I won't drink it.
THat's funny rickimc, b/c I can't stand room temperature water! It has to be ice cold for me to drink it.
Me too, bigestivediscuit! I have to have ice cold water or I won't drink it.
I've heard that drinking cold water burns more calories because it takes more energy for your body to break it down since it's cold.
I always drink water at room temperature (unless it's REALLY hot)
I prefer room temperature water because cold water hurts my teeth.
On a hot day, there's nothing better than ice cold water, but other than that I usually just stick with room temperature water. Plus then you don't have to worry about the bottle or glass sweating everywhere and getting everything wet! Lol.
really cold water hurts my teeth and sometimes hurts my head. lol. but i enjoy drinking it, especially after a hard workout. (throws water bottle into fridge). but room temp water is just as good as any.
I've heard that room temperature water actually quenches your thirst faster because your body can absorb it quicker because of the temperature whereas with cold water, your body has to use the energy of warming up the water and then starting to absorb it. Atleast thats what my trainer said...
I only like drinking cold water, I fill a large re-usable cup (24 ounces) with ice and distilled water at least 5 times a day.
I prefer room temperature water in most situations.
i totally agree with the cold water quinching thirst faster. if it's warm, i feel like i just drink and drink and drink and nothings happening.
I like it freezing.
I didn't learn to appreciate room temp water until a trip through Italy where I finally learned that when you're really thirsty, any water will do!
I like cold water. I can tolerate room temperature water if I'm really thirsty, but it doesn't taste as good as cold water.....
I like room temperature water better, I don't like it too cold and I definitely hate hot water.
i was afraid that it was a trick question - but i thought that i was right. when i drink warm water i feel like i have a dry mouth afterwards.
