You're a busy person with work, family, deadlines, errands, and appointments. Since you have so much going on, when you get home at the end of the day, it's easy just to open your back door and let your dog relieve himself in the yard. Really, though, what you both could use is a long, relaxing walk.

Even if you only have a few minutes, you'll both benefit from the fresh air and time alone. It'll allow you to stretch your legs, increase circulation, and give you a little energy, and just 15 minutes of brisk walking burns 52 calories. It proves that every minute of movement helps keep you in shape. If you can work in three 15-minute walks with your pooch a day, that's 150 calories. Getting in the habit of regular daily walks can help you both stay fit and happy.

1I have to walk my dog, because I live in a condo and we have a shared back yard. Also, he prefers walks to the back yard. However, he walks so dang slow I doubt I am burning much cals.
2Since I live in an apt, I can't just open the door for my dog to relieve himself. I HAVE to talk him on walks. It's good for me and very good for the health of my dog
3i try to walk my min pin...I usually get lazy when it comes to it.
Besides, I barely got him a new collar since he's chewed through 3 other collars.
4We have a very, VERY small yard and it's definitely not big enough to let our dog run around in. So I walk her for 30-60 minutes a day, depending on how cold/hot/rainy/snowy it is outside. It's very important for dogs to go on walks daily...it gives them a sense of purpose and it tires them out so they behave better.
5Easy and great exercise for you and your dog!
6My dog goes crazy if she doesn't get out of the house (she's a very active german short-haired pointer), so walks are kind of mandatory.
7Well, regardless of whether you have a yard or not, you should be taking your dog for a walk every day for its sanity.
8i have to walk my lab. living in a condo is already hard enough on him so we go jogging early in the morning before doggie daycare and when i get home from work. In the evenings if i'm tired, or anytime i'm ill and can't exaust myself from running, a walk is always nice. and it makes it a big more interesting for my doggie.
