Here's a reason to get up just a little bit earlier to fix yourself some eggs tomorrow...

A new study presented at Experimental Biology 2007 has found that eggs, when eaten for breakfast, can help a dieter lose weight. Even more than that, the study found that overweight women who ate two eggs for breakfast at least five days a week for 8 weeks (as part of a low-fat diet with a 1,000 calorie reduction): Lost 65 percent more weight, had 83 percent greater reductions in waist circumference and reported greater improvements in energy levels than their dieting counterparts who consumed a bagel breakfast of the same calories. Personally, I was sitting here saying well of course because a bagel has a whole lot more calories than an egg, however in the study, the egg and bagel breakfasts not only provided the same amount of calories, but also the same weight mass. Now I am convinced.
Fit's Tip: Worried that eggs will raise your cholesterol? Then think about switching to Omega-3 eggs.

I love eggs but can't wake up early enough to cook them every work day. but, i will hard boil some ahead of time. this is great news! And, I found a great soy sausage to go with it! I recommend Morningstar Farms sausage links to anyone who really wants a good flavored sausageless sausage. Their sausage patties are good too. I bought the links only because the patties were sold out, and think i may buy the links from now on!

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
Hope there's some benefit to eating them for dinner too, since we're having omelets for dinner tonight!
2Wow. Last Spring, I did eggs, generally boiled or poached, like 5X a week. They were what I wanted as the more sugary options don't work for me, but I still felt guilty. I was working out and trimmed down nicely and somewhat easily to achieve Summer's "fighting weight." This year I'm eating other things and having a rough go of it both energy and fitness wise.
Consider me egged on.
3This is true! I had eggs almost every morning for quite awhile. Just 2 egg whites kept me fuller than a bowl of cereal, oatmeal or a smoothie did AND for a whole lot longer!!!
4I use Egg beaters in my diet, I love them so much . Its only 30 calories in a serving and all the protein of an egg.
5I use Eggbeaters as well. I don't find this to be suprising at all though. Whenever I eat a bagel, I feel so lazy and tired throughout the day. It's a horrible feeling! That is why I stay away from them.
6I love eggs!!! My husband gives me crap about having to make time for my eggs in the morning ... Now I have evidence they are a fabulous breakfast.
7So how does everyone cook thier eggs?? im thinking my way, (frying them with vegtable oil) wouldnt be so healthy, and prolly wouldnt help with weight loss. i dont even eat breakfast tho, so id prolly eat eggs for lunch. =)

11Since reading Linda McP's comment, I know have a sudden urge for on omelette!
12i love eggs anyway so this is good lol
13I love to have twice a week for breakfast, 4 whites with one yolk beaten with chopped tomato, onions and garlic, pinch of salt and pepper and drizzle of olive oil, with one slice of toasted whole wheat bread, yummy!
14does this include eating the yolk??
15I've eaten two eggs for breakfast all my life, so this is very welcome news. I honestly can't get my day started if I dont have my eggs for breakfast - I simply don't function! Even in college I would get up two hours before my 8:00AM class just so that I could walk to the cafeteria for myusual breakfast. The staff got to know me because I was the only one there at that hour that wasn't on a sports team. My roomates with their stashes of cereal always made fun of me, but it was something I needed to do.
My favorite is scrambled with grated tomato (you know, on a cheese grater?) but my arm is not always up for that workout every day, so sunny side up works too. Im not very fond of omelettes (too dry), but sometimes I'll make scrambled eggs and throw in some ham and cheese or other things. Breakfast burritos are fun (and filling!) for brunch.
Can you tell I love eggs? LOL
16LOL good ideas pixelhaze. i decided im gonna do this "2 eggs for breakfast" thing. i just started today and i DO feel nicely filled up and awake! LOL
im just wondering if i can prep any eggy bfast the previous night, cos im way too tired to get up early every morn!
