October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it's important to not only think of others diagnosed with the disease during this time, but also it's important to think of how to be proactive in your own health and breast cancer prevention. I'm curious what you do to keep on top of your own breast cancer awareness?

i do self exams and go to the gynecologist.......plus my husband always swears he'll know if anything is ever different in my breast since he often feels them more then me.
1I know I should probably do the self-exam every month, but I just wait for my annual and the gyno does it for me. Also the eating right/exercise/no smoking bit.
2I work somewhere cancer-related, so I feel like my whole life is about non-stop cancer prevention. Biggest risks here are lifestyle, genetics, and chemical exposure, so keep up the healthy eating, exercise vigorously at least 3 times a week for 20 minutes, and know your family history so you know what exams to request.
3I do my BSE every month, my doctor always does a good exam on them during my yearly physical, and I eat right/don't smoke/exercise.
4I eat right, exercise, and I just stop smoking. Plus, every month I give myself the exam.
5My hubby and I examine each other, breast cancer is not just something women get diagnosed with.
6I agree and it can be diagnose at any time in your life.
