I love riding my bike because the fast speeds and breeze on my skin make me feel so free and alive. Think of how free you'd feel if you weren't wearing any clothes.
World Naked Bike Rides happen all over the world, and no, it's not a way for nudists to get daily exercise. They are peaceful demonstrations whose main purpose is to bring awareness about the dangers and vulnerability faced by bikers on the road. It reminds automobile drivers that they need to share the street and pay more attention to their fellow two-wheelers. The Naked Bike Ride is also a protest against cars and the negative impact our dependency on oil-based fuels has on our planet. Riding naked brings attention to the act of bike riding and urges people to use environmentally friendly transportation instead.

1Why does it seem like, in general, the people who are willing to get naked in public are usually the ones that other people would prefer it if they kept their clothes on?
Good for them, it seems like they're all having fun so more power to them...but can I just say ewwwwww. Maybe I'm a prude but I just wouldn't want to see all of that coming down the street at me.

7We had one of these in Burlington, VT where I live, and I loved the sayings people wrote on their backs. One said "I'm One Less Car," and another said,"Pay Attention to Me When I'm Wearing Clothes Too." I think it's important to raise awareness since so many bikers get hurt by cars. I guess being naked is an effective way to say "Hey, look at me and watch out!"
8LOL, telewyo, that is TOO true! Conceptually, kind of a neat thought, but it would be incredibly painful. I can't even imagine doing this if you were a guy...no support whatsoever. Plus I don't think I'd like riding a bike staring at a bunch of naked butts in front of me.

16I am a nudist. I'm completely for the World Naked Bike Ride. In past year, I was hit by cars four times. Which proves that they don't watch out for you when you're clothed. I honestly feel that you would attract more attention if you rode your bike in the nude. I'm tired of all the oil dependency. Our ozone layer has been destroyed enough. We need to make our planet a healthier and safer place to live on. I'm very sadened by how the world has been destroyed. Please, we need to take action before the world is completely destroyed.

18Wearing clothes is still new for the human race. It's less than 7% of the time we the (human race) has been here. Yes, not all nudist are perfect but they don't have closed minds. If you as in most "textile wearers" can not allow nudist to be nude try looking inside to find out why you find the human body so offensive. As children we are told that we must ware clothes to not be "nasty."
19We all are told things that are not true. So... the construction of the mind cage begins.

AWESOME, I just wish there was one closer to us in Northeast Ohio. I am not proud to know that this society of ours would rather destroy our planet by putting plastic clothes on our backs then be tolerant and accept their bodies for what they are. Be free and accept what Gods has given us, and be proud of who and what we are. Get rid of OIL DEPENDENT society and replace with a free caring one.
