I have to say that sometimes I LOVE doing yoga or lifting weights in front of a mirror - it's a great way to check for proper technique and alignment.
Mirrors can also be a way for women to obsess about how they look (or how they don't look), so I feel like it adds to issues of low self-esteem and poor body image.
What do you think?

No thanks to the mirror! I know I look like a sweaty mess, no need to be reminded!
1When I am running on the treadmill I like to look over every so often to check on posture- same when I am doing sqwats and certian weights.
2Just like FitSug... I like them for yoga and weight lifting.
I don't know if they do any good for people while working out on cardio machines though. I never look at them while doing cardio. I'm usually plugged into a TV on the machine.
3I was a dancer and I gymnast so I used them forever, now I don't need them too often because I feel like I have a good sense of posture, etc for regular workouts and even yoga but I will check in from time to time.
4no way. when i see myself working out in a mirror it makes me work even harder because i hate the image i am looking at, to be honest. and then i don't want to go abck and let other people see what i see.

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
they are a great tool, but i really don't like to see myself. so i avoid them...and try to feel the move, or yoga pose instead of see it.
6I use the mirror because it helps me stay focused on my form and posture when doing my strength training. I say hell no to mirrors when I'm running
7i hate doing cardio in front of the mirror, watching myself sweaty and red-faced, uck. i do however like weight lifting, stretching and the like in front of the mirror to check technique.

8i'm a dancer so i'm very used to having a mirror in front of me when i work out. it's very nice to have if you're doing any sort of lifting. i like to see that i'm doing everything correctly.
9I need a mirror when I do free-weights so I can make sure my technique is right
10If I'm doing weights yes. If I'm part of a class no.
11It depends-If I'm home at Home or at the Gym!
12^It depends-If I'm at Home or the Gym!
13Lifting weights - yes I do but only to see if I do it right.
14Now when I come to think of it, it might be more of an accustomed thing than really a necessity.
I like them for checking postures, but not always.
15Necessary evil--- use it to check my form even though i know i am not going to look like a prom queen while sweaty and nasty.
TINA!
16It depends. Sometimes the mirror is my best friend and sometimes it HATES me, depending on my mood. I like running on a treadmill in front of a mirror. It helps motivate me and I invision myself as a CRAZY AWESOME runner who is winning a race and I push harder. (Can't you tell I used to run competitively in school?
17I'm at the gym, so mirrors don't bother me as it relates to my appearance. I'm at the gym to stay healthy and look better right? I definitely use them for weight training and pilates.
18I hate it... it makes me feel weird to be staring at myself
19Yes and no. Sometimes it gives me a boost of confidence, other times reason to criticize. I like to pay attention to my form by feel: shoulders back, abs in, as opposed to looking at myself. I feel like I can concentrate more that way.
20Definitely! but I don't LOVE to stare at myself in the mirror!
I use it for posture and
proper technique. The gym I go to has mirrors EVERYWHERE... so I really have no other choice... what else am I going to stare at? I don't think other people would enjoy me staring at them...
21he11 yeah! lol
22Some may find it a help but me, I more prefer not to have them. But that is just me
23if i'm alone its good. but if there's other people around i'd rather not have any.
