Having a hard time keeping motivated while working out? We've all been there, but one thing that you can do to keep from hitting a slump is to make sure your iPod is packed and updated with toe tapping beats. New research has even found that the right music can enhance endurance by 15 percent and actually improve how you feel while exercising, which ultimately allows you to enjoy your workouts more. I'm all for that!
Got any ideas for music that is perfect for working out? Share them below, I know that my iPod needs to be updated and I would love the suggestions.

7More maximum benefits use music that matches the tempo of the exercise you are doing. If you want your heart rate to increase to 110bpm during a warm-up, choose tracks in the range of 80 – 120 bpm. The Run to the Beat website has a cool graph that matches running intensity to specific tunes, like Keliss Milkshake for 65% Max HR, The Progidy's Firestarter for 75% max HR and S Club 7's Reach for 85% Max HR. You can even download the specifically chosen playlists on the site.
8Live Your Life - Rihanna ft. T.I.
9I Fell in Love with the DJ - Che'nelle ft. Baby Cham
Never Leave You - Lumidee
When I Grow Up - Pussycat Dolls
Love Me or Hate Me - Lady Sovereign
Dude - Beenie Man
About Us - Brooke Hogan (I know, I know-- so shoot me!)
Wine Up - Kat De Luna
Let it Rock - Kevin Rudolph ft. Lil' Wayne
Give it Away - Deepest Blue
Big Girls, You are Beautiful - Mika
9 pm - ATB
Closer (Deep Soul Remix) - Goapele (for a cool down)
The #1 song I listen to when I'm at the end of a workout and need to keep up the pace / sprint is Survivor by Destiny's Child.
10i have to agree that music really does motivate me. if i'm working out and a slower song or an older song comes on - then i'm immediately tuned off.
lately BOTTLE POP by the pussy cat dolls is one of my favs and so it 'breaking dishes' by rihanna.
11Here's an alternative to music (which I tend to get bored with). I listen to podcasts while I walk or run. I get completely caught up in the topic and it totally makes my workout go faster. I have caught myself laughing out loud sometimes while running!
12Wow, I love all the lists!! I love 80s music and techno while working out - but it looks like I'll be d/ling a bunch to my iPod tomorrow!
13Totally second the Ting Tings and Feist! I also really enjoy Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Kiss Kiss" and "Date with the Night" and Garbage "Run Baby Run."
14RebelKate: I recently started listening to podcasts as well. It's great for long walks and makes time fly on the StepMill. If you like to have a good laugh while you run, try downloading a comedy album on to your MP3 player--I swear, you'll want to keep exercising just so you can keep listening. I have new stuff like Dane Cook and classics like Richard Pryor. You get funny looks when you laugh out loud, but who cares!
15Britney Spears "Break the Ice" NEVER fails to get me wanting to move.
16I love working out to house and/or dance music.. it has excellent beat for running and fast paced workouts. I recommend anything by Bob Sinclar or Kaskade. Also, Never Say Never by Armin van Buuren, Face to Face - Daft Punk, Calabria - Enur, Every Word - Ercola, Flashdance by Deep Dish.
