It's no secret that I love dark chocolate. Not only is it super tasty and satisfying, it's actually a sweet treat that is good for you, too. Dark chocolate has been found to sooth a cough, increase blood flow, and lower your blood pressure. With benefits like that you may be tempted to trade in meals for chocolate bars, but there is an ideal amount to consume each day.
US News and World Report recently reported that research has found that only 6.7 grams of chocolate per day (or 0.23 ounces) represents the perfect amount of dark chocolate for your health. To have something to compare it to, a Hershey's Kiss is 4.5 grams and most bars of chocolate are about 40-41 grams. So enjoy, but enjoy in moderation.

2I cannot see one single reason why we can't have even some milk choclate or some candy every so often and enjoy it, we need to lighten up.
where did you find those bars? the usual one is 100, that's a standart. i always devide them in 10 pieces and eat just one a day.
3My hubby and buy a couple different good quality dark chocolate bars each week. Every night after dinner we each have a square which puts us right around 6g of dark choc a day.
Also, by hubby knows whenever I am stressed out or sad because i start having 2-3 squares - its a good emotional barometer for me. And he usually notices and makes a good effort to give me a back massage or something.
4how funny, I'm eating some right now!
5well i love that there's justification in eating dark chocolate so i'm all for this. it's just maintaining the small amount that's the trouble!
6I love to eat a teeny bit of scharffenberger nibby bars once a day. They have cacao beans in them which gives an interesting texture.

7I understand the health benefits sided with dark chocolate, but why limit yourself to just one kind? You're (probably) eating it in moderation anyway.
8I prefer dark chocolate. It's more filling and the kind I buy has less sugar in it. I only need 2 pieces at a time. I still have candy bars sometimes but I don't really like having them that much when it barely feels like I'm eating anything.
9I can't believe some of you can limit yourself to just one or two pieces of a candy bar, I usually don't eat a candy bar in one sitting but I eat at least 1/4 of 1/2 of it. You guys have a lot of discipline!
