All Summer long, I ran in the early mornings. It was great to fit in a run before the rest of my household was up. The sun woke me up before 6:00 and I was out the door. Now, the sun isn't up until I have finished my post run shower, if I get up at all.

I find it hard to work out in the dark early mornings, how about you . . .

I actually just started working out in the morning last week. I used to wait until after work. It is hard to get up when it's dark, but I feel so much better when I exercise in the morning! And I don't have to worry about doing anything when I get home from work!
1When I leave for the gym, it's usually still dark out, but I love the feeling of coming back outside when I'm done and the sun's come up while I was working out.
2I find it harder to get out of bed, but I keep pushing myself to do it . . . after a 10 minute snooze.
3I am having more problems with it getting dark early. I live in the desert, and it doesn't usually cool down until right before it gets dark, so it is hard to go for my run right after work, but if I wait too long it gets dark. Have to time it just right!
4It is harder to get out of bed! Each summer, I think, "Why was it so hard for me to get up in the morning a few months back?"
Then, when the dark mornings hit again, I remember. Oh yeah.
5That's funny you posted this. I was thinking last week that it was harder to get up since it's so dark out, but I still get up. No snooze and no excuses!
6I just don't feel as safe running in the dark, so that's my only issue.
7I never work out in the mornings anyways, so it doesn't really affect me!
8the dark mornings are affecting me b/c my neighborhood isn't one of the nicest. my husband was okay with me running in the streest as long as it was already daylight out... although on the sweeter end - now that it's dark, he wants to run w/me so i don't run alone
that's
always a possitive effect to the dark mornings!!!
9Never have and never will be a morning person, so my schedule has not been affected too much.
10The only difference is that now I have to go to the gym instead of working out outdoors. It is too dark, and I have a tendency to trip and fall even when it's broad daylight, so it's just not safe!
11Opposite for us southern hemisphereans obviously, but now that it's getting lighter earlier I'll be way more motivated to exercise in the mornings.
12I have been wanting to get up and run in the mornings, but the sun comes out so late that my schedule doesn't allow me to =( I also feel unsafe running alone in the dark, so I just try to make more time in the afternoon to run!
13Hitting snooze so I have been needing to cut my workout short in order to still get to work at a normal hour.
14now that it's so dark out in the mornings i think that when my alarm goes off that it can't be right and that it's still the middle of the night. it's kind of frustrating cause i'll hit snooze too many times and by the time i really realize it - it's too late to get a workout in before work.
15I kind of like the peace and quiet in the mornings...getting up early isn't so bad!
16Nope but I sure am lovin how it helps me sleep in! Boo day light savings!
17I'm up at 5 am 3 mornings a week to run with my running group regardless of the season. I need the extra endorphin boost so much more in the dark days of winter so there's no sleeping in for me.
18As soon as the alarm goes off at 5 AM, I put on all of the lights in my bedroom so that I can wake up as I get dressed for my workout. I find that if I can wake up early and get some exercise , I'm more ready to get the day started.
19I have to get up at like, 3:30 am to work out before work, so it's ALWAYS dark when I get up. The only thing I really notice is that when I drive to work in the winter/fall, it's still dark out (which kinda sucks, because I have to watch for deer on the road).
20OMG Fit, I feel as though you read my mind! I'm having a really tough time trying to get my morning run in not because I can't wake up, but because it's too dark out! I just don't feel comfortable running when is the sun is not up.
21i usually exercise at night, so it doesn't really affect me.
22Not to be a kill-joy, but you early-morning runners ought to be especially cautious as we get less light in the morning this time of year. Statistically, most rapes/sexual assaults happen in the early morning/ pre-dawn hours and at dusk, so please be careful out there. I love a good run but safety first!
