OK, so it's April. How are you doing with that New Year's resolution to get fit? A good majority of people who create resolutions have given them up by April.
If you let your resolution slide by, think about these tips from Harvard Medical School on how to get back on track without beating yourself up over failure:
- Imagine yourself exercising. Recall the aspects of exercise you enjoy most.
- Come up with a tantalizing reward to give yourself when you meet your first goal after resuming your program. (Shoe Diet anyone?)
- Line up walking partners for your next few outings.
- If completing your whole exercise routine seems overwhelming, mentally divide it into smaller chunks, and give yourself the option of stopping at the end of each one. However, when you reach a checkpoint, encourage yourself to move on to the next one instead of quitting.
- Rather than focus on why you don't want to exercise, concentrate on how good you feel when you've finished a workout.

This is the first year in my life I have kept with my New Year's resolution of losing weight. I am too happy about this. I cook more, drink less, and spend more time outside! I still need to work on the profanity though.
1Oh, an´d my resolution NEVER to taste chocolate again has miserably failed.
2I'm still running!
3I haven't reached any of my goals.
4Aha! This is why I make my resolutions on the first day of spring, also my b'day - 03/21. This way when April rolls around, I'm still going strong... I've done well so far, considering (I actually started a couple weeks earlier this time round) - still vegan, still losing weight, my vegetable garden's underway... need to work on waking up earlier, and on going for my three-mile walk when I wake up.
5i did not quit smoking yet, but i have cut down a lot, so i think that's pretty good too!
6I'm doing Good!
7I quit smoking! Been slacking off on running, though. It's sad how quickly fat comes back. I think quitting put on about 10 pounds. Basically, it's the same 10 I lost when I started smoking in the first place. I'm hungrier, but I smell (and feel) much better.
8my resolution was to make it all about me, and to get into shape. im still on the right track.
thanks fit for this post! it made me feel good to realise im still doing what i said i would!
9Still going strong. 45lbs lost since january 2nd. Also learning to like exercise!
10wow Sugar_Rush, that's alot! how'd you do it?
11I never thought I'd say this but diet and exercise... I've tried in the past with just one or the other but doing both seems to be working
