Unwanted hair - it's a fact of life. Many women choose to shave or wax, but there might just be a sweeter way. Have you ever heard of sugaring?
Also known as Persian Waxing, it's a method of hair removal that has been around for thousands of years. Similar to waxing, it's supposed to be less painful because it only sticks to the hair, unlike wax which also sticks to your skin.
It's made out of all natural ingredients including sugar (honey or molasses is sometimes used instead), lemon juice, and water. You can play around with different recipes and do it yourself, but I recommend having a professional do it for you.
First, the area is dusted with powder, then warm sugar solution is applied and spread around with a tongue depressor. A porous piece of cloth is then pressed onto your skin. Just like waxing, the strip is then quickly pulled off in the opposite direction the hair grows.
Fit's Tips: If you want to stir up a batch of your own, make sure you have a candy thermometer. You can buy pre-made sugar solutions such as Moom and Nad's and have a regular hair removal party!

this sounds very interesting...i only do threading for my eyebrows b/c my skin is so sensitive.

2Interesting - I like that it only sticks to your hair and not your skin! That's a definite plus. And I like the easy cleanup with warm water... which does not work with wax. Hmm... I might try this. Has anybody tried this??
3I've used both Nads and Gigi Sugar Bare with some success. I would say its less painful than waxing, and equally effective at removing unwanted facial hair. However, the downside is that it is seems less effective at removing coarser/thicker hairs, such as leg hair. I'm not sure if that downside is because of the particular product or poor technique on my part. I think I'd give sugaring another shot though.
4hmmm, im curious. can you find it at regular places or do have to go to a certain store like whole foods or something?
5i've used nads, though i've never waxed before so i can't say it's less painful. it feels like plucking your eyebrows, but a bit more painful. it works just fine on me, the only problem i've found is that it doesn't get the smaller hairs that are just growing in. so it never feels like you're smooth because there's always a little bit of hair left that's too short to get yet. other than that, i love that i can just go to the grocery store and buy some, i love that it's really easy to clean up with just warm water, and i love to see all the hair that i get! lol

7sounds interesting, but I still cringe at the thought! I know plucking my eyebrows hurt and that's the hair only...um fitness fixation, could you be so kind as to let me know just how unpainful it is when you try it?
8I've only used epilation ever since I started hair removal, so I haven't tried waxing or anything. Is this a better choice compared to waxing?
9It's a lot like regular waxing, but supposedly less painful. Plus it's made with all natural ingredients, so people prefer sugaring over waxing.

Hmm if it's like eyebrow plucking - that doesn't sound too painful. Pain is extraction during a facial. Ouch.
11My friend just went to spa week in NY and had this done and said it was incredibly painful! Worse than waxing by far!
After hearing her, I'm not rushing out to try it! One of my coworkers said the same thing - that's it's actually more painful!

Either way, you're getting hair ripped out of your skin - so I don't foresee it feeling like a picnic! YOUCH! What women will do for beaaty - it amazes me!
13yes most of my friends use MOOM but its very painful my sister just tried it once i think moom means something like wax in persian
14you should check out the shobha sugaring kit (www.myshobha.com) it's the same professional-grade sugaring gel they use for their salon treatments!
and just to clarify, sugaring gel does stick to the skin, but much less than wax while still adhering as effectively to the hair, so that you still get the same results and the hair is removed from the root. the 'less sticky' factor makes the removal noticeably less painful than waxing.
