Well it's September, and for many of us, a crisp Fall breeze is in the air, especially in the early mornings. If you're one of those people who love to exercise outside before work, then you're probably realizing that Summer is quickly waving goodbye.
I know when I'm cold, I don't feel very motivated to move. If you feel the same way, here's a way to excuse-proof your morning workout. Before going to bed, gather all your workout clothes, from your sports bra to your socks. Place your gear under the covers at the foot of your bed, so you won't kick them in your sleep. When your alarm goes off in the a.m., you can stay cuddled under the covers and change into your warm gear. Then when you get out of bed, you'll be all set to go. Not only will this save you the discomfort of slipping on a cold sports bra, but it'll also save you time in the morning — no more searching for that missing sock. I wouldn't recommend sleeping in your exercise gear though, since that wouldn't be very comfortable.
How do you excuse-proof your morning workout? Tell me in the comments section below.

I do that, it's really helpful, you have no excuse because even if you're comatose you can find your way out the door, already dressed and rarin' to go!
1i think that this is a GREAT idea. i always want to work out in the AM, but in the winter i just can't motivate myself to get out of bed. i think that i'm going to try this and see if it works as some type of motivation for me. at least the mornings aren't FREEZING yet - since that makes me not even want to go to work...
2I couldn't do it!
3I love sleeping nakie...even when it's friggen cold out! That's what the bf and pup are for!
I'm sorry but this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.
4I'd rather just pop them in the dryer for a few minutes when I'm brushing my teeth and washing my face. I would not be able to sleep if I had something down by my feet.
5i sleep in my exercise pants and a t-shirt so if i wanted to get up and exercise i could. but do you think i do?? uhh..no..
6Well, I think it is a good idea
especially for those that leave in cold states. But,
for this georgian, I leave my running shoes right by my bed. I pack my gym bag and lay out my clothes the night before for now. But, I may be using her idea by December
Overall, good suggestion
7oops... I need more coffee...lol I meant to say.... For those that LIVE in colder states. lol shhh
8I sleep in partial workout gear - bra top and what not - already. It definitely makes it harder to think of excuses for not working out first thing in the morning!
9I SOOO told myself I am getting up early and going for a jog (this morning). Do you think that happend??? Aaa NOOO!! LoL!! But I did kick my butt out of bed to stretch and do some crunches...glad I did something. I wish I was an AM person but so far I am staying on track working out right after work!
10Hey everyone. Just to clarify, what I mean is to sleep with your clothes under the covers with you, to warm them up - not to sleep while wearing them. I changed the title to make it clearer.
11That is a great idea! Facing a cold room makes it hard to get out and strip down into workout clothes.
12I wear my sports bra to bed and keep my workout clothes right by my shoes. It literally takes me half a second to put my clothes on and start working out. I think if I put my clothes in my bed, I'd have a heck of a time finding them and getting them on in the morning!
13This would just make them smell of my bed... and then I'd want to get back into it.
14I don't work out in the morning though, far too much effort!
I'm not a morning person, so working-out in the morning is not going to work for me. The only time I exercise in the morning is if that's the ONLY time I could squeeze it in. I've been known to hit the gym at 5 a.m. because that's only time I could exercise.
Normally, I exercise in the evenings. I can commit to that no problem. In fact, I look forward to my work-out sessions. I enjoy them.
15Exercise before work? I bike to work! I have done so for 20 years, and on my day off, I would sometimes go on a very long (10+ hour) bike ride immediately after work. Among these long rides are to San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Hollister, San Leandro, Pacifica, and Oakland. I have also biked to Half Moon Bay, Sausalito, Sunol, Portola Valley, Fremont, Foster City, San Bruno, and Woodside. Because I cannot afford a car, and buses do not run when I need them to get to work (graveyard shift), biking is my only option, which I enjoy greatly. If my bike breaks down or gets stolen, I would walk to work, two hours each way.
