One of the best things about lifting weights is the hurts-so-good soreness that you can get afterward; it's also one of the worst things about it. When muscles start hurting, hanging out on the couch chilling and not moving seems like a good idea, but this is one of the worst things you could do. A light aerobic workout can actually help relieve the pain, since moving around will get your blood moving and bring blood to the sore area — new blood helps promote the healing process. In fact, you may even want to think about adding quick bursts of cardio between your lifting sets to reduce delayed onset muscle soreness. So keep moving, your muscles will thank you.

can someone please tell me if using the skipping rope for a straight 30-45 minutes three times a week as a cardio work out is ok.
1ashantixoxo Depends what you are doing..but I would say no. If you are trying to loose weight...you will want to mix up your cardio because your body will get use to one type of exercise very quickly...just jumping rope seems to be pretty hard on your knees and joints I think...You might want to mix it up with light weights with high reps 10-15 (two to three times) for muscle tone.
2CYL thanks for the tip
3i never thought about that -but you're right there - doing a little cardio really could help muscles and i might have to change up the time/rotation of my workout to consider this. i don't usually do a lot of weights - just some arm/upper body stuff -but there's the usual soreness and pain a day afterwards so i might have to change it up and see if i feel better.
