Fashion Week is full of surprises and 180 degree turns. Not just the fashion either. Marc Jacobs has gone from boozehound to gym hound. Yes, he admits that he is still an addict, but the addiction is the exercise, and he has a three-hour a day gym habit. Jacobs explains that he loves the happy vibe of the gym, all the bodies at work, and his hours at the gym is time spent not smoking. I guess you can't give up all your bad habits at once.
Even though his relationship to nicotine hasn't changed, his relationship to the mirror has. Marc actually likes how he looks and no longer avoids the mirror. Plus, he celebrates his new fit body with jewelry and has been seen sporting some serious bling. How about you, do you give yourself gifts of jewels for reaching your fitness goals? If not jewels, how about rewarding yourself with a Marc Jacobs bag?
Don't forget to check out Marc's Spring collection. Fab describes his new bags as "wackadoodle."

sorry but you can't be a work out buff and still smoke. mmm nothing like a cigarette after a long run...... blah!
1....is he wearing a skirt?
2oh and in response to the comment above... apparently Mark Spitz, after winning an Olympic gold or what have you, would grab a cigarette and go sit in the hot tub. So yeah, you CAN still smoke and be an athlete....its just obviously stupid to do so (since smoking alone is a touch, you know....stupid...)
3oh i know a lot of people do it... i mean outside my big ritzy gym is a smoke orgy- i just think it's very contradictory and illogical. lol.
4As soon as I lose the weight I want to I'm going to do some serious splurging on new clothes. so yes, totally relate to marc on that aspect.
5I liked Marc better when he was a loveable geek.
6Isn't three hours a day at the gym just trading one addiction for another? It's really not all that healthy if you think about it. Certainly doesn't make me admire him.
7Its ok Mark so am I.
8Meh, I love Marc for his designs and sense of humor, not his outrageous workout habits. I used to spend three hours at the gym, but that was only because of a 2hr yoga class.
93 hours at the gym seriously isn't as bad as you guys make it seem. It never said he was on the treadmill or busting his ass for 3 hours. Shoot, whenever I go to the gym, I spend 2+ hours there myself. I'm definitely not busting my butt, but I do spend good quality time there by taking advantage of the machines they have, plus yoga, plus sauna time.
10i wish a had a mentality like that. instead i'm addicted to tv shows...
11He looks wonderful now, I'm glad that was able to change his focus. Yes, it could be an addiction however it is much better than drugs and booze. However I doubt he runs on a treadmill 3hrs straight; I bet it is specific workouts broken into time slots (an hour of this, an hour of that, etc..). I wish him luck with continuing his healthy ways. Now if only he could drop the smoking habit he would be all okay.
As for the treating yourself bit; that is a good way to reward yourself for all of the hard work transforming your body. I am all for buying something for myself when I do well.
12people can easily go to the gym and smoke. They only go to the gym to look good
not
for the health benefits
13I actually know a lot of people who have transitioned from substance abuse addiction to exercise addiction. I think the exercise addiction should be monitored too, but hey, if you have an addictive personality, that's probably the best possible scenario.
14well good 4 him
