The US Open drew to a close yesterday afternoon, as Roger Federer beat Andy Murray in three sets. Federer claimed his 13th grand slam victory and vowed to try to win another one, because staying at 13 would be so unlucky. On the women's side of things, Serena Williams rallied through two sets to beat Jelena Jankovic.

Andy was awarded more prize money as a bonus for playing in all of the OPEN series tournaments this summer they are a build up to the US OPEN. The women can also collect the bonus money but women in the semi-finals they didn't play in all of the series. Dinara Safina would have won the bonus if she made to the semi finals because she did play in all of the tournaments in the OPEN series.
