You know how I feel about breakfast. It really is the most important meal of the day because it jump starts your metabolism and feeds your brain so you're more productive during the day. It helps people maintain their weight and eating breakfast gives you energy to exercise later in the day. Breakfast eaters are also more likely to consume their daily amount of fiber since so many morning foods are full of whole grains, like cereals and bread.

Granola is one of my favorite breakfast foods, but some can be high in fat or sugar. To see how some popular granolas compare, read more.
This is the nutritional info for 1/4 cup of granola.

Fit's Tips: When comparing granola on your own, check the serving sizes. Although the info above is based on 1/4 cup servings, serving sizes tend to range from 1/4 cup to 1 cup. So you may think a granola is low in calories, but the serving size may be small.

I actually find that Galaxy Granola's Not Sweet Vanilla Munch compares favorably to every one of the ones listed here - and it's made WITHOUT OIL! It's also made with organic grains and oats and is deeeeelicious. Give it a try.
1I love granola, but who can eat just 1/4 cup?!?
2I always try to have a Quaker Sweet & Salty Crunch Toffee Almond granola bar and then use the crumbs that are left to eat with my nonfat Yoplait every morning. Love granola!
3Yeah 1/4 a cup wouldn't satisfy a 4 year old.
4Yeah, that's my issue with granola...1/4 cup is such a little serving. I get much more satisfaction from 1/4 cup of nuts, so I usually pick those instead of granola for a snack.
5I actually find that a 1/4 cup is good if you sprinkle it over yogurt and bananas, and see the yogurt as the main ingredient, rather than the granola. I haven't tried Cascadian Farm but now I want to.
6I eat granola once in a while for breakfast. Since I only eat it sporadically, I don't worry about the serving size's calories or fat because I run around all day and would probably end up burning it off anyway.
7I love Bear Naked Banana Nut granola -- 1/4 cup with 1 cup of plain (or sometimes vanilla if I'm feeling it) lowfat yogurt is filling and delicious...every so often. :]
8I wish the breakdowns would be accompanied by fitsugar's conclusions... i can definitely read into calories, fat and fiber but it would be quick and helpful and easier to remember in the grocery store to have a quick summary of which are best for you!
9I love gronola!!!
10I ALWAYS combine the 1/4 cup serving of granola with a half-cup or whole cup of cut up fruit, berries of all kinds or banannas or even a handful of chopped up walnuts or almonds with the 'nanners, if I have the calorie allotment. Same with cereal! The serving size 'aint much better for that, either!!
I also love my granola in some low-sugar yougurt... almost as much as I
11love my low-fatcottage cheese with pineapple tidbits over top
Anywho, I have a great-tasting,easy and quick recipe I use for granola that has no oil or sugar in it, feel free to PM me if you'd like to have it, too
Not sure if it would be against the rules for me to post it here..?...
12I love granola, but I usually eat it over yogurt, flake cereal, or a little on top of oatmeal.
