When I was in college, running shoes with jeans was quite a popular look. But although I wear casual sneakers for everyday comfort, I reserve my running shoes for running and working out. How about you?

I have flat feet and bad knees so when I'm really busy or need the extra support yes! And I wear maximum control running shoes for pronation and I don't even run!

I changed my running shoes ~ every 400 miles. The shoes still look brand new, but it just had lots of mileage on it. I wear those "old" running shoes for comfort.

The ONLY time I ever wear my running shoes other than to work out is when I go to the airport. Traveling and trudging through the airport is much more comfortable in my running shoes and worth the fashion faux pas. I often end up walking more because I've got my running shoes one. Last time, I walked to my terminal - 3000 ft. according to the sign.

NO NO NO!! Running shoes are for running only--not elliptical, not weights, not walking around town. It's not good for your shoes if they are still your running shoes and bad for fashion if they're old.

Lindaloo, I'm like you. I had 3 running injuries from overpronation, so the doc's basically said I should live in running shoes. So I have two pairs of the same model, one for running and one for every day. Javsmav and skigurl, sometimes you have to make a sacrifice and take care of your feet (and in turn your overall health) before you worry about fashion.

I wear flip flops or flats. I only wear sneakers if i know I'm going to be doing something intense that needs them.

If I am going to be walking around a lot and/or am nursing a sore foot/leg, I will usually wear my old running shoes. Each time I get a new pair, the now old pair becomes the walking shoes. Except when I am traveling with not a lot of luggage... then I bring the nice ones and walk around in them, too.

I wear my retired running shoes for errands sometimes because when they're too worn out for running, they still look OK on the outside. But I try to wear my current running shoes for running ONLY.

I only wear running shoes when I'm running or walking, every other time i'm either in heels for work or flip flops and flats for outside of work.

I'll wear my old ones for walks, and my new ones for running only. I don't wear sneakers when I'm not doing something active.

I did the first year my daughter was a newborn. I was lucky enough to get my damn clothes on that first year, let alone my workout shoes! ..So not so much anymore, it makes me feel like a bum.. Now if I really have to bum-it I'll wear glitzy flipflops to the grocery store or whatever. (My husband hhhhhates flipflops though. He calls them slutslippers, lol.)

I used to wear them casually back in like 7th grade. I remember getting teased for them. Kids are cruel! Now, I only wear them when I'm running.

I never wear running shoes or sneakers unless I'm at the gym. I wear heels pretty much all the time, or flats if I'm looking for something more comfortable. I know, I know, I'm ruining everything but I can't help it, they're so pretty.

I only wear running shoes for running to preserve their useful life! If I'm standing or walking around and need comfort/arch support, I wear my dansko clogs - I actually think they are MORE comfortable for my feet/knees/back if I'm just standing or walking, and they blend in with non-workout clothes better than my running sneaks.

I have two pairs of running shoes. One is a old pair that I used to run in and the present pair that I currently run in. The old pair I would wear when I am doing house stuff or going to the grocery store. I leave the pair that I am running in off and only use it when exercising.

i don't usually wear running shoes unless i'm at the gym, but there have been times that i've gone hiking or something and have chosen to wear them for the added support. i typically wear pumas if i'm wearing sneakers on a daily basis, and most of my pumas are more of a fashion sneaker than a function one -

javsmav is right. If you run, running shoes need to be for running only! Your foot pattern when you run is NOT the same as when you do your everyday errands! Running shoes really need to be reserved for running and running alone.... I have chronic knee issues and along with the addition of orthotics my ortho strongly reminded me not to mix gym shoes, running shoes, and casual shoes. It may cost more up front, but it tremendously makes a difference!
