When I suggested that chocolate-flavored calcium supplements make a good substitute for dessert, many of you weren't so into the high-fructose corn syrup that comes with most calcium chews. But I'm still concerned about my daily calcium intake, and I still like a sweet bite after meals, so I was excited to discover Adora Calcium Supplements ($6 for a 30-piece bag).
These dark-chocolate supplements are free of corn syrup, as well as gluten, artificial sweeteners, and other weird stuff. In fact, the only thing on the ingredient list that wasn't all natural or a vitamin was soy lecithin.
The individually wrapped candies are sizable and tasty enough to satisfy chocoholics. Though they're not exactly Scharffen Berger, they do taste unvitaminy — actually a lot like Hershey's Special Dark. You can buy a bag here for $6. Have you ever tried Adora? Do you think you will?

I have been taking Adora for over 2 years and love it! A great way to get your calcium and a little treat! Most women should take a 2 a day but take them at separate times of the day.
1Hmm, I would give it a try. I used to take chocolate flavored calcium supplements a few years ago, but stopped. However, since I picked up running again, I really should look into buying some more.
2sounds great. shame heven't seen anything like it in UK...
3IMHO, it would be fine if you found it hard to fit dairy into your diet, or if you are in a pinch. Since I am a dairy queen and take a multi each day, I will stick to tradition means. Especially with the 6 clam price tag! Ouch!
4i hope its available where i live...i'm way over here in the Philippines, so i guess not..
5i'm not at all familiar with the brand or product but it sounds like it's a better alternative if you need to make sure that you're getting enough calcium in your diet. i think that i might try it pending what my dr says at my next visit. there's always concern that i'm nto getting enough - and this could be the easy way to curb the problem.
6I tried them, but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. It's not bad, but if I have a real chocolate craving, it won't fix it. I'll swallow my calcium supplement, and then enjoy a really good piece of chocolate
.
7fit, you read my mind! i was looking at viactiv yesterday, but was horrified to see that the calcium chews contain hydrogenated oil. i can't take pill supplements (they give me migraines), but this is perfect. thanks so much!
8I bought a bag of these once. They are pretty good, comparible to Hershey's chocolate. The nice thing is that they are individually wrapped since I have no self-control when it comes to portions!
