Strength Training
Strength training your entire body will help work and tone your abs, free weights especially. When standing and lifting weights you need your abs to work or you will fall over. If you are not currently lifting weights, try an all over body plan to help you build all over strength and calorie burning muscle.

1I've heard that dieting is the most important thing for abs... if you've got a ring of fat around them, it doesn't matter how strong they are, you can't see them! I love Pilates for abs... just the best!
2Barbell squats are great for toning abs, and since they challenge your central nervous system, your metabolism increases as well.
