I recently asked you what popular Summer Olympic sport you'd want to try. But now I'm wondering which obscure activity most piques your curiosity?

i played water polo in high school and college...i loved it!
i need to find a pool and get back in that amazing shape.
played some of them, but archery sounds good.
I played water polo for years as well, so much fun and wish they would show it more often than once every four years.
I did crew (rowing) through HS, it's an amazing way to get in shape and a LOT of fun. I wish I had more competitive spirit in me, I would've done a lot better!
All of the above!
What about rhythmic gymnastics?
I loooooove the group ribbon routines!
Totally not coordinated enough to do it myself though!
I, too, played water polo through high school and LOVED it. So, if I had my choice, I'd get back into that, and synchro swimming. I can hardly wait to watch their routines!
I want to try the equestrian events - dressage, eventing, and jumping. But I haven't taken riding lessons since I was a kid, so I've got to get back on a horse first!
Badminton is obscure?
i've tried water polo & archery, so i'd like to try rowing. seems like it'd be intense, but fun.
Trampoline all the way!
Trampoline for sure!
Trampoline or archery - Susan made it look so cool in the Chronicles of Narnia movies!
I love archery. I'm terrible at it, but I used to love it.
I'd love to try fencing. I'm not sure why, but I'd just love to get to try it.
I do archery...I love it! I've been told by my family that I should hunt deer, but I can't bring myself to kill anything an arrow, so I only target shoot. I like it because it doesn't involve too much coordination or anything; just good aim and a strong arm.
i tore my ACL playing team handball.
Since when is rowing an obscure sport?!?! Or handball? Just because the Americans don't play them as much as nations does not make them obscure. In fact, they've been olympic disciplines long before other so called "popular" sports.
* as other nations *
Oh, and fencing was a discipline in the first modern olympic games, France 1896! Fitsugar, you should know better, really!!!
I don't think this is a good collection of obscure sports either! And Americans DO row! That swirly dancey thing I saw on tv today tho...that looked obscure and pointless. Kind of mesmerizing, but I definitely wouldn't want to do that!
I don't really play, but in high school, our junior year manditory gym class consisted of archery and badmiton (and jump rope - but I don't think that is an Olympic sport).
synchronized swimming looks soooo cool! i mean its def extremely hard but its something i'd wanna try to see all the hard work behind it!
Rhythmic gymnastics looks so fun--and weird!
Trampoline. Definitely. Fun + workout = a great time.
i always wanted to try rowing, but the downside is that they had a rowing team at my college but they got up really really early to train, and that just didn't work for me. oh well.
i saw something on TV the other day called beach tennis - which was really similar to badminton, so i wonder if that's something that we will see in the games in years to come.
I took fencing as a P.E. credit in college. It was a lot of fun, and not many women were in class lol. I was good at it too. 5th in class, best girl. The funny thing is...in the stance you have one hand stretched our holding the foil, and your other is up in the air behind your head in the shape of a "c". hisotrically this would be to hold a dagger, so you could attack with your foil and stab with your dagger. Well i would find myself holding this arm in a "c" all the time and only doing things with my foil hand lmao. i had to mindfully remember to use my left arm as much as my right otherwise it would look like i had a physical deformity. That was my fav college class too.
ilanac- ha that's what I was thinking. I had several friends from different school who did crew, so if you went to college odds are pretty good you know someone who rowed. However, I was not eager to get up that early to do ANYTHING.
Trampoline!
I was a rower in high school - its tough work. I also liked archery in PE class
In
terms of what I'd really like to try is martial arts!
I find badminton so much fun. My boyfriend and I have been having some friendly competitions playing together this summer. Not much else to do. I was also on my highschool's badminton & tennis teams back in the day lol good times
I always thought rowing would be awesome. We never had that at my high school.
How come rhythmic gymnastics isn't on that list? It's a lot more obscure than rowing or fencing. It looks like something I would have done when I was 5...twirling ribbons and whatnot. I'm sure it's much more difficult than that, but it looks so, well, EASY.
Also, what about water ballet/dancing? That always looked interesting.
handball looked really fun.
Archery i love it
Badminton, b/c I'm good at it in the backyard...although I'm scared of losing teeth, which they say happens in the Olympics! Trampoline next, but I'm too much of a chicken to bounce that high.
I still play water polo.
Love Badminton!! Play all the time with the family on the weekend!!
I grew up doing fencing, and did trampoline all through high school. Both are such cool sports!!
Well I play badminton on and off with my friends. And I want to try synchronized swimming!
I really love badminton. I only ever really got to play during PE in high school -- I tried to start a team back then but it never really took off (also there weren't many other schools with which we could compete).. I'd really like to find some people now and get back into it.
