On a hot day, a frozen treat hits the spot. There are so many tasty options, and so many of them are decadent — which of course brings up the health dilemma. So, do you indulge in ice cream, or choose lite? Do you eat a bit of sorbet or make your own fruit juice popsicles? Or do you just avoid sweet frozen treats altogether and go for a frozen margarita?

The lite stuff used to be really, um, ew. I remember getting lite cookies and cream as a kid and it tasted like flavored ice-water, bleh! But it's so good now! I can't tell the difference. Yay for advances in ice cream making!
Weight Watchers makes giant fudge bars that are only 1 point each (110 calories) and they are deeeelicious. I've never been a fan of ice cream but after trying those, I was hooked.
I could eat it every day of the week.
But I don't allow myself to!
When I want something sweet - which is all the time! I can find a reason for a sweet treat, always - I generally stick to things that are in yoghurt (I have yoghurt and cereal for breakfast every morning.) So when I want a frozen treat, I go for frozen blueberries, slightly defrosted in natural yoghurt. It is super tasty, sweet but with great, natural flavour and actually filling, so I don't need to eat a lot of it before I'm done!
My kids and I like to make homemade ice cream, and there is no sucking the fat or calories out of that. So bring em on in the line of family togetherness.
not big on icecream or frozen things. i will opt for a drink with the girls by the pool every now and then.
PINKBERRY....LOVE THAT TART KICK
I mix sugar free vanilla ice cream or sugar free jello pudding (made with non fat milk) with some frozen berries (raspberries/blueberries) and topped with some fat free whipped topping. It's a 100 calorie desert thats super filling and has lots of vitamins, protein and fiber.
I just eat ice cream all the time. Haha. Living in Columbus, the self-proclaimed "ice cream capital of the country," how can I not? We have Graeter's, Jeni's, Handel's, etc. It's amazing stuff.
I eat ice cream once or twice a month, and the rest of the time I snack on all-fruit popsicles or frozen grapes.
In the summer, I make iced coffees for my fiance and I all the time...I always put a bit of ice cream in it
...I usually get fat free popsicles too.
I eat a LOT of frozen yogurt. I've actually had it three days in a row now. Occasionally I indulge in real ice cream, probably like two or three times a month. I'm also a sucker for iced coffee, healthy choice fudgesicles, and frappucinos!
Edy's Slow Churned Lite Ice Cream is the bomb!
Tart Fro Yo, Skinny Cow, or Tofutti Cutie. I have to be careful with icecream though cause the high dairy content causes some stomach problems - so icecream light or not is usually off limits.
I love Edy's Slow Churned Lite and their yogurt blends as well. My daily indulgence!
vodka lemonade slushy. nuff said.

I remember reading somewhere on the Runners World website that a guy ran 12 miles a day just so he could eat an entire (yes, entire) gallon of ice cream. I do not love ice cream or running that much, so I settle for a much reduced version of that story
i love frozen yogurt from the bigg chill! it's sooo good!
i love frozen yogurt from the bigg chill! it's sooo good!
I let myself have ice cream again recently and got acne out of it. I normally like things like watermelon mixed in the blender with juice from a lime which I freeze. I also like some of the weight watchers treats I've tried. We currently have Italian ices in the house and I was happy to see it wasn't like the ones I would have when I was little that were really sugary on the bottom. I hated the sugary part.
sometimes i allow my craving for ice cream to take over - but i try not to do that too often cause it irritates my stomach (yes TMI). i like sorbet cause of the tang, and sometiems i'll even go for a margarita - but oh well...everyone's got their vice right?
I make some homemade ice cream every once in a while. Not light by any standard, but at least I know what I'm putting into it. And it's just so much more delicious and creamy. Mmmmmm.
If I'm out I may have a frozen margarita or gelato, if I'm in I may have soy ice cream/sorbet or I'll pop my soy yogurt in the freezer.
frozen yoghurt, but i eat ice cream as well.
Kate Marie, Jeni's is my FAVORITE. I got to have some just this weekend. A friend of mine came to town and brought SIX flavors with her. mmmmmm!
Ice cream makes me so incredibly sick. I'm lactose intollerant. Just the thought of what I feel like after eating ice cream is enough to make me steer clear. But I do like tofutti "ice cream" sandwiches. And I love, love, love frozen mango chucks from trader joes. Mmmmmm
i also love tart frozen yogurt from pinkberry or yogurtland. from yogurtland, i get a mix of plain tart and mango tart (tastes just like lychee)and top it with strawberries and little bits of mochi. yum!!!!!
Ice cream is my favorite treat! I usually eat light/fat free versions when I really want some, otherwise just to cool off I'd rather eat a 100% fruit juice popcicle.
I eat 40 calorie fudgicles almost everyday! I am addicted! I also eat fat-free, no sugar added frozen yogurt once and awhile. It is so good!
Frozen grapes do the trick for me!
harmony yogurt with fruit topping!
harmony is nonfat, plain organic frozen yogurt (a la pinkberry, but it's actually yogurt, lol). it's so good and it satisfies that craving without adding lots of calories. it's actually good for you!
I like to make slushies out of crushed ice, a pack of Crystal Lite ToGo, and some Fresca. If I'm in the mood, I'll throw a little vodka in it too...yummy AND refreshing!
I put my go-gurts in the freezer
I like frozen blueberries (or other fruit) covered with coconut milk. The coconut milk gets all frozen yogurty and wonderful. And hey, no dairy for you people who can't do dairy.
It's so good I actually ate this nearly everyday since before last Christmas, right up until fresh blueberries came into season. No way I'm eating frozen if there are fresh berries to be found. No freakin' way. But it's a good way to make smoothies, too, the frozen fruit & coconut milk combo...
i munch on frozen fruit...my favorite is pineapple and mangos...sometimes with a little yogurt. but sometimes that doesn't satisfy that sweet tooth and indulge in some breyers ice cream...sometimes you gotta do it!!!

well, i have a complicated love affair with ice cream. I tend to steer away from ice cream because its usually loaded with corn syrup, and corn syrup usually comes from GMO corn. but, if im gonna go for the gold (and trust me, i do quite frequently) i usually opt for breyers fat free chocolate because even though its not all natural like other breyers types, it wont completely ruin the fact that i work out to stay in shape and feel my best. plus, its so creamy and decadent that it satisfies me wholly. ive never tasted something so rich thats fat free, and with 4 grams of fiber per serving, to boot!
I eat whatever I want whenever, but I'm lactose intolerant, and ice cream gets old fast for me. Like, whenever I buy a small carton of Ben & Jerry's, I'll eat half of it, and the rest will just get frostbitten. I could probably eat half a carton in one sitting, but then, I won't touch ice cream for another six months. I love the thought of it, though, and I tell people I love ice cream, but...I definitely only eat one to one and a half cartons a year.
There are these great new popsicles at my local coop. They're called frosteas and frostbites. They are all natural, sweetened only with honey. I love them and so do the kids. The best part? Only like 40 calories.
I eat Hoodsie Cups! They are delicious and only 100 calories!
Frozen Yogurt! I make my own wicked tasty, good for ya frozen yogurt, and it is sooo good! I often mix in fruit or other things and with fruit mixed in, it is actually good nutrition wise because I control the amount of sugar and fat in it, and just use a plug in ice cream/frozen dessert maker. I love iced treats and making them myself is a way to ensure I can have some almost daily and not have to worry about it screwing up my diet
