Spring and Summer are busy seasons in the wide world of sports, and the Olympics are just around the corner. Exciting competitions like Wimbledon and the US Open, not to mention the ongoing baseball season, definitely make for good entertainment.
The athletes are fun to watch and inspiring, too, so I was wondering . . .

Melania Roach, female powerlifter is my choice of the moment. She is not only a stellar older athlete but is a mother to three children, one of whom has autism. She came back after a pretty serious back injury. I'm totally rooting for her!

Baron Davis (even though he left Warriors to be with the Clippers) and Monte Ellis (still with Warriors); ladies the NBA is where its at, lots of hotties and beautiful muscles & bums to feast your eyes on. Great plays too of course! Can't wait for football season, even though I don't really have a fave player.

I am all about tennis and soccer right now. But my present fave is Ana Ivanovic. Still think that the #1 ranking is a bit on shaky ground but she is fun to watch. But I still root for the Williams sisters (esp Venus) hard.

I have a few: Georges St. Pierre (MMA) because he really persevered after his Matt Serra loss and I enjoy watching him; Diana Taurasi (WNBA) as I've been one of the few WNBA fans since I was 11 in 1997 and am a Phoenix lady; and definitely Amare Stoudemire (NBA) because after being shuffled through foster care and 6 high schools, he never gave up.

Dara Torres is one of my least favorite cause I feel she is juicing. I was rooting for swimmer Hayley McGregory at Trials cause she got 3rd twice in 2004 and then she got 3rd twice this year too !! :[ So my favorites athletes are: Manny Malhotra (hockey player - representin for the Indians woohoo), Alicia Sacramone (gymnastics), SCott Spann (swimmer, cause I used to swim with him when he was like 8 haha), Vince Young (Go UT!!!), Allen Iverson... the list could go on so I will stop now haha

I have so many faves but I gotta say, that Dana Torres is inspiring. Her athleticism, perseverance, determination -- not to mention good grace and humor -- with regard to her age have defined her even among the other amazing competitors.
