Ice cream is one of my favorite treats, but since it's high in saturated fat and cholesterol, I try not to eat it that often. With so many low fat and dairy-free alternatives out there, there's no reason I have to go without that sweet creamy goodness.

These So Delicious Minis ($5 for a box of eight) are made with vanilla soy ice cream, so they're cholesterol and lactose free. How do they taste though? To find out read more
For not not being ice cream, these Minis sure taste pretty darn close. They're creamy and sweet, and I loved how the cookies were soft and melted with each bite. There was a slight soymilk aftertaste that left my mouth a little dry, but overall they were very tasty. They definitely didn't taste like they were only 90 calories. At first I was disappointed at how tiny each sandwich was (only three inches long), but then I realized it's perfect if you just want a little something sweet — they are called minis after all. If you're in the mood for something bigger, they also make full size sandwiches. I, for one, can't wait to try the other flavors.

i love how they came out with all these dairy free things AFTER the fact that my lactose intolerance has made me hate: ice cream, milkshakes and chocolate milk the 3 basic college girl food groups.
1Tofutti Cutie icecream sandwiches are hands-down the tastiest ones in the store. Now I want one for breakfast
2Being Lactose intolerant I have tried them all. Turtle Mountain has some of the best flavors in frozen treats. Depending on your level of intolerance you can also try frozen yoghurt.
3Lil, if you want chocolate milk go for either Lactaid chocolate milk (a bit over priced) or Silk Chocolate Soy milk. For a dorm room the Almond Breeze in Chocolate is good and is in an aseptic container. Also, any lactose free milk with fox's U-bet is yummy. Hope this helps you through the school year.
If you don't like soy milk or those products, rice milk is a good option to try!
4wow! i am going to have to try it
5i think that this is a great recommendation - thanks for posting the review. for myself - i don't eat ice cream cause it gives me a stomachache but to know that there's an alternative out there - that makes my day and i'm really happy to hear about that!
6Tofutti Wildberry "ice cream" is awesome.
7OMG I love Tofutti! Im a vegan so thats the "ice cream" of choice and without the guilt! Theres one called "Purely Decadent" kinda fattening though not nearly as much as regular ice cream and thats amazing too.
8Purely Decadent & So Delicious are Turtle Mountain products- check out their website. They also make a great soy yoghurt.
9A lot of the Tofutti products have hydrogenated oils. You need to read their ingredients. I found this out by looking for a cream cheese substitute.
10I love the Fudge Pop no sugar added bars. They're sweet and creamy and only have 40 calories a pop, so I don't feel bad about dessert at all.
11Soy Dream icecream sandwiches are the BEST!!
12Rice Dream (or cream?).
13i loove vegan-friendly ice cream!
14This is making me hungry!
15I love it that it's dairy-free..
Ok i finally tasted the soy dream and i like them so much better than the tofutti cuties - i am officially a convert. Not to mention a better portion size! Now all they need are some more flavor choices than choc and vanilla (least thats all they have at my store).
16Are there any options out there for those of us who are both lactose and soy intolerant? *whimper*
