I am a firm believer in healthy snacking, and just like with meals, it pays to plan ahead with snacks too.
Nuts and trail mix make up the solid portion of most of my snacks, I pre-pack small Tupperware containers with a couple of handfuls of nuts and dried fruit. I just stack them in a corner of my kitchen counter, so they are easy to grab on the go. Since I am nuts for nuts, and different nuts provide different types of important nutrients, I mix it up: walnuts with dried cranberries, almonds with dried cherries, and peanuts with raisins and dried apricots. I also like to make sure that I have enough cheese sticks on hand to make it through the week.
What do you pack as your snacks? Can you pack it ahead of time?

i usually eat plain rice cakes with peanut butter and bananas. it's my favorite
1Yogurts make pretty good snacks for me, since I have a fridge to put them in. I also pack fruit and make up baggies of cut up veggies and take an empty yogurt container with a snap on lid and fill it with salsa to dip them in.
2I usually pack apples, a couple of Camembert cheese, mixed nuts and soy milk for my snacks at work.
3I love the dried veggie chips, unsalted soy nuts and the wild rice sticks from whole foods. Also, like to bring fruit with me to work for snacks. It's easy to grab a banana, a plum, or a zip lock of blueberries. That's one of the ways I get my fruit in.
4I have to eat constantly because I have a blood sugar imbalance so I take to fresh or dried fruit, cheeses like cottage cheese if I take fresh veg or hard cheese to eat as is with whole wheat savoury biscuits, yogurt, nuts, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds and maybe some fresh salad with me to work. Then I snack throughout the day, every three hours at the least and drink planty of water.
5I have two banana protectors which I take with me to work. I also buy these things called "school bars" which are like compressed fruits into a little bar thingy and they're only 50 calories a piece and ideal for when I want a quick snack I can put in my pocket at work.
I also snack hardcore on dried fruit and nuts at home. I've also got ryvitas, seasame seed bars (addicted to these!) and a whole bunch of other snacky foods in the cupboard. ;p
Oh yes, just call me... the snack queen... I am constantly eating something healthy. ;p
