The Olympics start in a month, and I can feel my excitement mounting, especially after the exciting Swimming and the Track and Field team trials. They were just a preview of things to come.

I am curious . . .

I'm not a huge fan of the olympics but soccer will be fun to watch. I'll also check out USA basketball to support Coach K.
1I love watching Gymnastics and will usually try to catch some of the equestrian events. Aussies seem to love the pool though
2I used to watch track events but now I basically tune in for a few winter events and that's it.
3Michael Phelps!!!!
4All of the above, but gymnastics especially!
5I dont normally watch much of the olympics, but i love watching the diving
6I will watch just about any Olympic event ... even the odd ones that I've never heard of before! But I think diving is my favorite ... I know I could never do it in a million years so I am a bit in awe.
7Basketball, especially women's.
8geez I get so giddy about the Olympics. My hierarchy of excitement goes like this 1. women's soccer; 2. track and field; 3. tennis; 4. gymnastics
it's such a beautiful and exciting event. I love the emotion and passion that surrounds it!
9oh and I forgot about basketball for women... two of my former alum are playing on the olympic team.
seimone agustus and sylvia fowles:
Geaux TIGERS!
10Gymnastics and Swimming
11I'm usually mostly interested in any sport where Norway competes. Since we're sending about 60 athletes, it is limited how much I'm excited to see.
I'll probably also try to catch South African swimmer Natalie du Toit, as I find her inspirational, as well as a bit of gymnastics for the wow factor.
12Track and Field is the sport that's always first on my radar.
13ROWING!
14I love to watch both gymnastics and swimming
15I have all the respect for all the athletes, but I'm boycotting this Olympics due to the situation in Tibet. I've spent a good amount of time in China and Tibet, and it's just not right.
16Equestrian! (particularly 3-day eventing!)
17I love Gymnastics! At last Olympics a girl who I used to take gymnastics with as a kid won GOLD! Talk about envy...
18Duffy, I was wondering when someone was going to mention boycotting.
I selected swimming and volleyball would be my second, but my husband and I are considering "boycotting". For me, this would pretty much just be not watching, but at least I'm standing up for something within the means that I can.
19Definitely ROWING
20Boxing, wrestling, Judo, power lifting. Too bad MMA isn't an olympic event yet. That would be the best!
21EVERYTHING!!!
22I will watch every swim!!! Aaron Peirsol is reason enough to watch--plus you get to see Michael Phelps break some world records.
23I personally am boycotting the olympics this year and i wont really miss it. but in years past when i did watch i would get really into swimming and track and field once i started watching. i will keep up with whats going on in tennis but im just a tennis freak. sunday was such a LONG day for me, hehe.
24HELLOOO dara torres?!?!? 41 and breaking records?!!? HOW?!?!
25swimming and water polo. it dara torres isn't enough to inspire you to be fit, then no one is!
26I've loved swimming my whole life (we would get so excited to see Summer Sanders and Janet Evans when I was little), so swimming for sure, plus water polo, diving, and synchro. I'll probably catch some of the out-of-water events, but all of the water ones are my favorites.
27Rowing! I have friends competing!
28I used to watch just about all the summer sports, but I will be boycotting the Olympics this year for several reasons.
29I have to be honest, it's all about men's swimming.
30not trying to be argumentative, generally interested:
how do you boycott the olympics?
Do you not watch it on TV? Not read about it in the newspapers?
I just don't understand how one goes about doing that.
31Oh man, I'm a huge Olympics nerd. I'll watch whatever's on, whenever it's on (and this year, that's going to be a lot!), but gymnastics is probably my top priority.
32I like to watch Gymnastic . I have been a Fan since I was I little girl.
33track cycling!
34Synchronized swimming — combination of my two favorite sports! xo
35Gymnastics and Ice Skating.
36I'm going to watch all of the events! I can't wait!!
37Diving since I am a retired diver and competed against a couple of the USA team members! I also enjoy swimming, gymnastics, and track and field! Men's basketball too!
38For some reason I love watching gymnastics..maybe b/c I wanted to be a gymnast. And I love diving and swimming too!!
39I watch the Gymnastics in the summer Olympics and the figure skating in the winter Olympics. That's pretty much the extent of my interest, I have to admit! I'm not a sports person. (She says, on FitSugar!) I walk, do yoga and weights for health and weight maintenance, but I really don't like sports and am so far from being naturally athletic it's not funny!
40Gymnastics. I did it for four years!
I feel sorry for anyone who's boycotting the Olympics. I know it's a personal choice, but really, my friends in Beijing have told me how hard the locals there have worked to get this ready. Some which can be summed up here: http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/node/8662
"Furthermore, many critics of China hosting the Games seem unaware of the immense effort and enthusiasm the Chinese people have put into their preparations for the Games. I saw tears in people's eyes when Beijing lost the opportunity to hold the Games in 2000. I saw tremendous efforts by taxi drivers to memorize English words to welcome international guests even before they could recognize the 26 letters of the English alphabet and I cannot forget the sweaty but happy smiles of hundreds of housewives and retired workers volunteering ten hours a day, seven days a week to practice Chinese traditional dance in the extreme heat of Beijing's summer to celebrate the countdown a year before the Games."
Even though I'm of Chinese descent, I was born and raised American. Even so, the Beijing Olympics has a bit of an ethnic pride to it for me.
41Did anyone else watch the swimming Olympic trials? Did you see the torsos on the men? I am SO there come August!
42Gymnastics, followed by soccer and Taekwondo.
43Mens and Womens Water Polo!
44I am looking forward to watching the Rowing!!
45Gymnastics and Track and Field...also, the marathon. It's definitely inspiring (and the BUFF guys helps things out a bit too!).
46TRACK AND FIELD. I never used to watch, but after the intense olympic trials i am HOOKED. Bernard Lagat and LaShawn Merritt are my faves! I love it so much when the announcers focus solely on one guy the entire time, and he loses at the last minute to the underdog (LaShawn Merritt)!!!
47I love watching the equestrian events!
48I'm planning to watch every swim event (men and women)... that's my main thing. I get goosebumpy watching the swim events. But I like rowing and the little known C-1 (canoe) events too since I participate in those myself. I couldn't boycott watching the olympics since it's not about the country hosting it as much as the hard work and comraderie of the athletes participating. That's all my eyes can see anyway.
49Swimming!!! Go Dara!!!
