Diet Tip: Whiten Your Teeth and Prevent Snacking

When it's about 6 p.m. and I start making dinner, I sometimes find it hard to resist snacking. If this sounds familiar then here's an odd, but effective trick to keep you from munching. Try wearing Crest Whitestrips while you cook. For the 30 minutes they're in your mouth, you cannot eat or drink. It'll take you about that long to prepare your meal. By the time you're ready to eat, you can remove the strips and your appetite won't be spoiled with mindless snacking.

I cant believe people wear these for half an hour everyday, my teeth get so sensitive from these after 10 minutes of use!

This reminds me of my little trick of brushing my teeth earlier in the evening to prevent snacking.. I call it making laziness work for me. I rather not snack than to have to brush my teeth again!

Um, I've tried this and it works on not just snacking, but taking away your appetite completely! Have you ever drank orange juice after brushing? Same thing! After slaving for 30 minutes cooking, you won't want ANYTHING to eat, trust me!

And I agree with roma anyway about how it makes my teeth so sensitive.

I used these before my wedding and they were so awkward to wear and they made my teeth really sensitive too. I had to use Sensodyne while I was using them, but I guess they DID stop me from eating junk. They taste really gross.

ive done this:$ aha .. they dont taste like anything, but the salivating is annoying forsure:p and then i always brush my teeth after so theres no gel left, so its like a full hour of not snacking kinda since you dont wanna eat right after teeth brushing.. i realize its only an hour but thats good for me. haha

this is a great trick - I use it late at night when the nighttime munchies hit. I can't use it when I cook, since I need to season to taste.

I love Crest white strips and this definitely helps me prevent over eatting for an hour. I can only wear these once a day (30 min) since back to back sessions make my teeth throb. However once a day is fine and then I brush my teeth which prevents me from eatting for another 3omin since the taste of mint toothpaste does not go well with cheese crackers, lol.

i would love to whiten my teeth, but i have a bridge- whitening is a no-no, unless i want a freakishly darker tooth.

I can never get these to stay on my teeth! They dissolve and taste horrible to me. What works for me is sucking on a strong mint or using no-cal liquids to fill up.

I don't like those whitening strips, personally because of my sensitive teeth... but that was a very clever idea, FitSugar!!!
