I'm allergic to dust mites, ragweed, pollen, grass, mushrooms and my brother is allergic to bees. We both have eczema and get hives, and I break out with them wayy worst then he does so
whenever I see a bee I take off faster than everyone else because I don't want to find out if am AT ALL!!
I have suffered from allergies on and off since I hit puberty. I have currently been suffering from year-round allergies for at least 6 years. My allergies have also been progressively
getting worse. I was tested for the most common indoor and outdoor allergens, and found out I am allergic to all the ones I tested for: cat and dog dander, dust mites (at least three
different types), floral pollen, potpourri, grass pollen, ragweed, mold, mildew, tree pollen, etc. I am also allergic to latex (I get contact dermatitis that I swear feels like chemical
burns). I am severely allergic to cat dander -- I was just hospitalized for anaphylactic shock -- and have developed slight asthma from said incident. Hopefully my asthma might diminish with
time. I used to get weekly immunotherapy injections, but had to quit due to my financial situation and lack of medical coverage. Hopefully, I can resume allergy shots soon.
I'm not allergic to any of those things, as far as I know. The only thing I can remember reacting to is poison ivy, but I don't know if that's classified as an allergy or not. I've never
heard the advice of limiting outdoor time to avoid mold exposure...?
As for the survey above, it might be a good idea to have an option for "two or more" of the symptions or make it that people can check multiple answers. Based on the comments made, it looks
like people who have allergies often suffer from more than one of the triggers listed above. I know I do with dust, mold, cat dander, shellfish, and insect bites.
