For many of us, a dentist using latex gloves while working on us is nothing to blink an eye at, unless you have a latex allergy. Luckily, the most common reaction is contact dermatitis, a blotchy, itchy red rash that develops within 24 hours. Better yet, there are nonlatex versions of common latex products (gloves, condoms, etc.) widely available.
