Confessing my health and fitness slip-ups to you guys make me feel human again, especially after reading everyone else's confessions. I've got a new one to make . . .
I've purchased and gobbled down a various form of bagel for breakfast everyday for the past week. Now, I'm not talking about a mini-whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese on the side. I'm talking egg, sausage, and cheese on a huge NY style everything bagel — and I don't even usually like sausage! I seriously don't know what's come over me, especially since I am fully aware how many calories are in one bagel before all the tasty trimmings. Starting today I am going back to my usual oatmeal with fruit starter but I'm not going to lie, my naughty week of bagel sandwiches was amazing.
So there, I've confessed — hey, it happens right? Now it's your turn. Do you have anything you want to confess and get off your chest? It helps knowing that we all make mistakes and that life, and health, does indeed go on.

I was pretty good this week, but on Friday night I did take advantage of 7-cent mojito night at a nearby bar...oops, since I know they're totally loaded with sugar.
1hmmmm I dunno!
2I was pretty good for the whole week (except fo course for my cheat day which I NEVER feel bad about).
I guess my only slip up was making Hamburger Helper one night for dinner cuz my man and me were craving it!
I ate a ridiculous amount of pie yesterday. *sigh*
3And a chicken chimi loaded with queso Saturday. And...something else but I can't remember what it was, I just know it was muy not good for me.
Ah well. Crossfit today baby.
4okay, this is shameful for me... one day, I started out my day just perfectly, I did heavy work out for like40 minutes. I had a routine planned out, I vowed I'd stick with it.
5ate a low fat cereal for breakfast and an apple. did just fine with a light lunch, evening snack was a little atta noodles, then came the news that I was called for an interview and that I had cleared the entrance test , you know. I binged so bad after that.
Although I ate salad for dinner, I ate a whole jar full of chocolate chip cookies that night watching movies. I woke up late the following morning and didnot move out of bed till like 1pm.
me and my gf are kinda tracking each other's diet these days. she tells me not to indulge in sweet tooth, i take care that she doesn't binge either,.
6when we hung out yesterday, we galloped down a hot chocolate fudge, 2 big cheese sandwiches, french fries, and an ice cream soda.
u know, we are not even fat ^_^
I ate half a pizza last night. But to be fair I worked out in the morning and spent the day climbing stairs at a water park
That's my justification. But the bad part is, I don't think I'm going to tell my trainer!!
7I'm trying to stick with the non-pork diet (for detoxing my body), and well, for the past 3 weeks I've been indulging in hot dogs topped with massive amounts of sauerkraut and brown mustard, as well as proscuitto ham and garlic cheese on a cream cheese bagel....and all of the krispy kreme doughnuts!
At least I've been good about making sure I eat veggies!
8I guess I had a few too many cookies this week, but I don't know if I would say I have big slip ups since I let myself have a little bit of something if I want it and can't manage to overeat much since it makes me feel sick.
9I just had a cookie for breakfast because that was the only food I had.
10I had some popcorn at the movies on Saturday.
11We didn't get butter, but boy was that good!
Also had a couple mini-canoli at work on Friday. Friday is my cheat day anyways!
A slice of chocolate truffle pie yesterday. Baked feta cheese with fried pita chips (a lot) friday. WORKOUT TODAY!
12I woofed down a package of Belgian waffles, and not mention a chocolate bar, yesterday. I felt so horrible (mentally and physically) all last night. This internship I'm doing in Belgium is not helping me, diet-wise. I need to do better, and I will too. Stay strong everyone.
13I made granola bars on saturday and ate almost all of them over the weekend!!!
14I went to the lake with my family this weekend and I think I lost all self control, a little too much of my nephews chocolate birthday cake put me over the edge!
15Whoa whoa... 7 cent mojitos?!?
16Yep, 7-cent mojitos. You can see why it was hard to resist
17I had my exam today, so this weekend, I've been indulging myself with chocolate as I've been studying. I've come to a nice solution though, when I crave it - I've bought small bars of chocolate that's about 70 calories each. One usually satisfies whatever craving I might have - and I control the calories.
I was very good with the rest of the weekend, though. Healthy eating - salmon and lots of veggies for dinner both Saturday and Sunday.
I'm afraid I'm going to indulge myself tonight. After passing the exam, and subsequently spending time in the gym… It's pizza time. My local pizzeria does a fairly healthy version - thin crust, not a lot of cheese, but it is still pizza.
18It's the Art festival here and delicious hot sausages, fresh squeezed lemonade and funnel cake. Very divine, but now it's time for me to be good!
19I'm sick. And I couldn't sleep on Saturday night. And it was raining. So I ate ALL DAY LONG! PB&J for breakfast & elevenseys, an entire bag of ravioli for lunch, an omelet for midafternoon snack, and another PB&J & a bag of cookies for dinner. (yes, an entire bag!)
And the best part is: I LOVED IT!
20although I'd be crazy to let that happen again anytime soon
tls, what bar was that?
21I am a complete cereal addict. I could (and probably am) live off of it. I have no self control.
22i took nine days off after my first 10k... gotta get back on the road today or i'm worried i'll lose everything i've up to
23It was my boyfriend's birthday last week, and I totally went overboard baking. Cookies, brownies, you name it. I tried to get him to take all the stuff into the office with him, but I definitely ate my fair share. Now, my sugar cravings are off the charts. It's like I need something sweet, but there's nothing sweet enough. I'm paying for it horribly.
24I'm in the middle of an enormously heavy series of exams, so my eating pattern is just a roller coaster of convenient food/comfort food, feeling guilty and eating some healthy stuff, only to relapse again the next day ... I'm trying to limit the unreasonable binging, but figure that I can worry about working out and eating healthy in a week's time. I can't be overstressed about two things at the same time.
25lol I want to know where these 7 cent mojitos are as well!! lol that'd be amazing...
I just ate an italian sub with chips from jimmy johns and I feel like a hefer! ...mmmm I'm already planning what I'm going to drink when I go out friday night...talk about a case of the mondays!
26kgt and tls,
I too had a mojito on Friday night and it was really good!!! I work hard all week on keeping it all together so I need that to relax and dance across my living room floor. LOL...
27I've had two chinese takeaways this week! One of them was at my boyfriend's parents and the other we were treated to by his friends as a treat for working for them!
I loaded up on rice though and had chicken dishes and AVOIDED extras like prawn crackers and pancake rolls.
I went for an 11.46 mile cycle ride yesterday and hit the gym today so I don't feel too guilty about it right now. ;p
28Baby shower on Saturday, CAKE. Friend's birthday Saturday night, CAKE (luckily it was angel food cake & chocolate angel food cake, but it's still got sugar!). Father's Day on Sunday, CAKE.
Sheesh.
29Ladies ladies...a couple cookies and some non buttered popcorn is hardly a slip up
The bf threw a party on Saturday and consumption of cocktails was far beyond what one might consider a slip up. Besides that I ate a ton of pizza last night AND had a huge breakfast sandwich
(egg, bacon, cheese, the works) this morning. What's that I hear? Oh it's the gym calling to me to get my fatty fat pants back on track.
30A slice of Dairy Queen ice cream cake and a cheesecake brownie! But it was totally worth it. lol.
31I get into these occassional crazy kicks where I eat the same thing everyday for a week (or more!). In college I couldn't stop eating nachos for dinner for a month. A few years ago I had a bread bowl everyday for lunch for 3 weeks, then the following year a cheesesteak everyday for one week. My most recent obsession was PF Chang's spicy chicken but that lasted only 3 days. If only I'd get obsessed with salads or something.
32Oh this is great! I've recently gone through a breakup, after which I made the discovery that there was a bit of cheating that had been going on. That hurts. Food is delicious. Working out is swell. These three things have contributed to my behaviour for the last 3 weeks or so. I've eaten over 2000 calories a day, and spent about an hour and a half at the gym each day, as well.
Oh man, some of my breakfasts... like, 700 calories people. 2 pieces of peanut butter toast... yogurt and a banana... and a protein drink. I've got to shake this. It's just lovely knowing that we all have these little blips on the radar though. Oh dear, and the evening snacking. It's basically been binging. I can just eat and eat and eat. Keeping Source yogurt around has been a godsend, the entire 650ml container is only 200 calories, so even if I eat the whole thing! Haha... oh, not good.
33Yesterday, I had to bake for some parties. I made healthy goodies but I keep tasting and tasting while I was cooking. I don't know why I couldn't stop!
34I ate almost an entire bowl of brownie batter yesterday!!!
35uhhh... last night i planned on going jogging- and instead ended up drinking 5 beers and eating chips and cheese and popcorn- yikes!!!
36I got drunk twice in one week, once on wine with my family and then again for my birthday on champagne and cider. On my party night we all ended up going out to a diner in my town that sells amazing poutine. I ate one to myself and half of two others of my friends. I definitally going back to healthy this whole week- I think about tha night and it's a motivator!
37Hmm, drank a lot of wine last night, made brownies and then ate a bunch, then snacked on roasted peanuts, pretzels, and cheese and crackers. All of this after a steak and shrimp dinner. Man it was good though!
38can we have this venting every monday morning, I'll feel better.
July 4th we are having a big party at our place... I can only see it now. I'll try to plan something diverse and healthy, but inevitably the chips and ice cream sandwiches show up... ugh. They should make ice cream flavored gum...
39i've been pretty bad for the last 2 weeks.... mainly because i'm broke and it's more expensive to eat healthy......
but i feel gross. So starting today I'm back on track!
40Syako - it was 7 on Fulton in the CBD by the Riverwalk.
41I adore this post! Reading the comments made me feel SO much better about my lack of self control at times. Today one of my students gave me a giant bag full of jube jubes and I swore I'd give them to my b/f. Instead I went to town on them! They're so addictive!
42Btw, ElleJay, I can totally relate! Sometimes when I'm too tired to work out, I just say "screw it" and then go to town on everything in sight. I've been known to binge on cookies, cake, ice cream AND chips in one sitting! Ouch!
Oh, and my colleague who is trying to lose weight eats a bagel EVERY day for breakfast. She thinks it's good for her because it's multigrain, but it's HUGE and I'd say it has about 400 calories in it (and that's not factoring in the cream cheese on top)!
43
tls! I'm hitting that up before the end of July for sure!
44Gosh, I haven't been bad recently, but I confess I eat WAY more pizza than I probably should! Next week my family is going on our annual summer vacation, and basically I give myself license to eat whatever I want. We usually end up eating out for every meal and have ice cream or other desserts every day. But it's a lot of fun, and we do a lot of walking, so I figure that's gotta count for something! It's good to know we all have slip-ups. I'll remember this post the next time I feel guilty for making a bad choice. I just have to be happy with myself and my decisions, and know that in general, I'm more healthy and health-conscious than lots of other people I come across.
45Beer. Lots and lots of beer!!
46I'm devouring a CAN of Pringles as I read this...
47Small fries and a spicy chicken from Wendy's....it's been like 3 years since I've eaten something like that and I won't lie, I enjoyed every deep fried minute of it.
48Spicy chicken *sandwich*, definitely not an entire chicken
49I've been trying to be good about eating actual meals, but lately all I want are olives. And pickles. Yesterday I drank the pickle juice when I ran out of pickles. I have an orange and a banana on my desk but I really really just want some olives.
