Thank goodness it's Friday! Why? Because in my opinion, Friday is a great day to head to the gym. Lately, I've become a big fan of hitting the cardio and weight machines after work at the end of every week, when the gym is virtually empty. The locker room isn't crowded, I never have to wait for a machine, and everything is nice and peaceful. I find that it's a perfect way to unwind after a long work week.
Of course, I also like going out on Fridays, but generally I find that no one wants to meet for dinner or drinks until after I'd be done working out anyway. So I use that downtime to squeeze in one last workout in a wonderfully unhectic gym.
Do you work out on Fridays? Do you like the gym at this time, or do you find it depressing?

Nah I just don't have the time. I'd rather just go home and unwind, then get ready to go out. It seems too stressful to go home,change into running clothes, run, shower, get ready -- and i'm usually STARVING so I either want to eat right away, or I'll eat beforehand and not be hungry when my friends invite me out.
1Yes, I usually work out on Fridays (and weekends!) for the very reason that I have to, because I take off Monday or Tuesday! The gyms are SOOOO over-crowded on those two days, so I try to avoid one of those days and get a lot of work done at the beginning of the week.
And you're totally right--even if you get into the gym by 6:30 or so (I can get in as early as 3 if I go right after work) you can still make it in time for drinks, dinner and fun. A toned, albeit late, appearance is always better!!
2I meet with my trainer on Friday mornings. I purposely scheduled that way to avoid bailing on a Friday workout.
3I always go to the gyms on Fridays - but it is because I don't always get in a gym workout on the weekends - even though I tend to do things that require activity. I have less guilt about enjoying nice meals and missing the gym if I workout on Friday.
4I like working out on Friday after work. The gym is less busy... more relaxing. Plus, I still have time to get home, get ready and go out.
5Friday workouts are good. So are Saturday mornings. The gym is quiet and don't feel as ogled when I'm doing the machines.
6I love Sat and Sun mornings at the gym! I usually take Fri off. Fri and Tues are my off days. But I missed the gym a bit this week so I might go for a short cardio burst. Nothing too crazy cuz I'm sore from my trainer kicking my butt yesterday
7I try but it's hard. I don't get home from work until after five. If I do my usual cardio that means I won't be home and showered until six forty five. And then I would have to get ready to go out...I let my hair air dry (at least an hour and a half) before straightening it so that's usually not feasible.
8i do an hour of cardio and then finish off with yoga.. its a great way to start of my weekend!

My Fridays are generally off days, but sat mornings the gym is nice and empty and I love it!
12I take a yoga class after work - in the summer it's depressing, but I always feel great after class!
13I go to the gym everyday after work but Fridays are by far the best. The gym is virtually empty as you mentioned and I feel like I can go about my work out without being hurried. It's also nice in the summer because it's not as hot inside the gym because there are less people = less body heat. My gym is air conditioned but when it gets packed, like on Mondays, it can get really stuffy because of all the people!
14I like to go to the gym on fridays be for I go out. This way I have burned some calories before dinner.
15I LOVE working out on Fridays after work. I also have a standing appointment with my trainer, and it is so much easier to get through the gym and onto the machines, etc. I want to use. Plus, it's easier to get into my trainer. Definitely a more relaxed and productive environment!
16I work out 6 days a week and Sundays are my days off. Plus I go to the gym before work so the gym is never that packed.
17I got at 5a.m. everyday so never have a crowded gym, its the best. Well not waking up that early but you do what you have to do!
18I tried doing Friday's but man, all I can think about on Friday's are unwinding after work! So now I get up and do 8am Kwando on Saturday's. And I love starting my morning that way. FOr the most part, Friday's and Sunday's are my days off
19I love an empty gym...it feels like it's my very own fortress of solitude,
, and I can do whatever I want and not feel self conscious and or worry about being looked at- because that's annoying. ha.
20It's also so very relaxing to not have to hear other people being noisy, as people are inclined to be noisy.
I always work out on Fridays. It makes me get all excited for the weekend.
21Friday after work- workouts are the best. You really unwind and destress before heading home for the weekend.

23you know its funny you brought this up fit - i just started going to the gym on fridays - and i realized i really like it. i find i end up having the gym almost to myself and i can take the time to really do a good workout... and still go out later at nite.
24I love going to the gym at "off times" Usually, during the week, somewhere between 1pm and 3pm is good and on the weekend, the afternoon and evenings are great!!! It is easier for me to go Friday than it is for me to go on Saturday, though. At the gym I go to, Saturday mornings are pretty crowded and I have noticed, Sunday evenings are starting to get more packed too.
25I always work out on Fridays. It's quieter and when you've worked out hard on Friday, you want to keep up your healthy daily habits all through the weekend. I find I'm less likely to blow all my hard work on some silly weekend indulgence if I've worked out on Friday.

27I tend to avoid peak times at the gym, so Friday is a perfect day to workout for me. I cannot stand packed weight rooms. I want to sweat, wince, and stare into the mirror in peace.
28Can't do it. I'm absolutely exhausted after work on Friday and I'd rather just have an early dinner and crash. I save the workout for Saturday.
29hmmm, never work out on fridays for me, find it's an unrealistic target, same way I don't study on fridays
30I try to go to the gym at least twice a week. But even if I don't I still exercise at home each day. I feel that it gives me more energy.
31I totally agree that the gym is so much less hectic on Fridays but it's so hard for me to get motivated when after a long hard week of work all I wanna do is go out and have fun. What I usually opt for is a early evening hike with a girlfriend which transitions into dinner and drinks (hey even tho we're in work out gear its fun!)
