Even when our willpower is at its peak performance, sweet treats after meals can be the hardest thing to give up. I don't know about you, but after a savory meal, I often crave just a tiny bite of dessert. If you're the same way, I have a tasty tip ensures that you get your RDI of calcium while satisfying your sweet tooth.

After dinner, eat a calcium chew, like the ones made by Viactiv. They taste just like candy — well, I guess they sort of are candy — but each piece has just 20 calories. They come in flavors such as chocolate, mint chocolate, and raspberry; my favorite is caramel, though I actually buy the Walgreens brand. One chew delivers 500 mg of calcium, which is half your RDI.
My only complaint is that they're made with corn syrup. But when the alternative is eating a sugary, high-fat candy bar or cookie, this calcium-rich treat is worth trying.

i always do this! I keep a container of the caramel ones at work and it's definitely a decent end to a meal!
1I don't think I could fool myself into thinking that was dessert..
2Is this an ad? I can't believe you're recommending this artificial stuff. Deeply disappointing.
3I used to do this, but noticed the corn syrup and just do a small dessert
4Ick. I eat these because I'm calcium deficient (I don't drink milk, except for in my coffee/lattes). I would never perceive these as dessert!
5I bought these because i was told i am not getting enough calcium. blech. lofat cheese and yogurt are 100x more appetizing.
did not realize the corn syrup!
6Personally I can think of a number of healthy alternatives I'd eat for dessert before these. I guess its good that they are a source of calcium, but I think I'd rather take a vitamin pill and eat a piece of real chocolate.
7I don't like to spend more than I have to for calcium supplements, so I usually just buy the pill form.
8I take these! I love the way they taste!
9I try to do this, but the flavor and texture aren't nearly as satisfying as a real piece of chocolate. I usually have to follow up with a piece of a quality chocolate bar.
10They're okay (haven't tried the raspberry one yet) and the caramel one almost tastes like the real thing-- but I can't pretend it's dessert. :/
11Eeek..this wouldn't be dessert for me. I would just eat this for calcium sake but not dessert.
12These things contain corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, AND sugar. They probably do more damage than good. Get your calcium from a natural source if you think you need it.
