Get Your Five-a-Day In-Season

I usually figure out what fruits and veggies are in season when I shop at the farmers market. Unfortunately, that is not the only place I buy food. Since I prefer eating locally grown and seasonal produce it is a little problematic when I am trying to eat my five a day. You can imagine my excitement when I recently stumbled across the Seasonal Ingredient Map from Epicurious that makes figuring out which fruits and vegetables are in season each month for each state painless. It's easy to use, very helpful, and not to mention fun, so check it out here.

    Very cool!

I find that fruits are the hardest thing to find locally grown and in season. Now I know I can have peaches, blueberries, and blackberries.

Great tool Fit! Sticking out tongue

It is so much healthier to "eat with the seasons." Thanks for this!

I'm confused, it only lists vegetables for Pennsylvania in June, no fruit- is that right? Otherwise, I love this!

Foodtastic! My local grocery store recently started labeling some vegetables as "locally grown".

LOVE this link! Eating local is sooo much more fresh, and usually cheaper. It cuts down on the gas costs that trickle down to the consumer from delivering produce from out of the area to local markets. Gotta love that!

Peas, potatoes, and strawberries are all that are in season this month in Wisconsin. That sorta sucks. I guess I'll have to wait until July to get the really good produce, lol.
