If you suffer from allergies to dust, then I hereby excuse you from your bed-making duties. It turns out that a study from London's Kingston University shows that dust mites need humidity levels above 50 percent in order to survive. This means that a neat bed traps the moisture in that those pesky mites need in order to thrive and multiply. An unmade bed, on the other hand, is too dry for those little suckers. Try to remember this little tip in the upcoming Summer months when the air is especially humid. So leave your covers alone in the morning, and you'll have less dust mites living in your bed. Who knows? Not making your bed in the morning may even save you time for breakfast.

lol I will def give this excuse to my bf. he hates that I never make the bed. I see no point in it.
Opposite for me - I'm NOT telling my boyfriend. I love a nicely made bed and have to beg him to do it.
P.S. That bedroom looks really nice and peaceful.
i only make my bed for special occasions. now i have an excuse!
What a great excuse.
Oh I wish I could not make my bed but that def. won't happen!
Awesome. I can totally live with that.
Okay, I need this confirmed by other studies.
love this.
i never make my bed (before bedtime, at least), and now i have a great excuse, since i have a heinous dust mite allergy!
Um, if I DID make my bed, hubby and I would "unmake" it pretty quickly anyway, so I always leave it unmade. It makes "spontaneous action" a lot easier too
I straighten the sheets but leave them turned down so that they can air out.
When I was a kid, my mum used to go in our rooms after we were dressed for school and while we were having breakfast in the kitchen, and would open the window and spread the sheets at the end of the bed so that it would air out.
I got that from her, now I like leaving my window open when the weather's nice and airing out my bed, the sheets smell fresher afterwards.
